Anyone said that prog is auntea party ?

Well, guys, prog offers us endless challenges ... one of the biggest being a new Mars Volta album.

I consider myself to be one of the hardiest dudes in the Room, but even I couldnt manage this album from beginning to end on first run. But now, after several run-ups, I find it absolutely thrilling  *horns*

Nobody does it like the Mars Volta guys   8)

Tom, whadaya think ?

Yes I do. You probably know I'm in a band and we write our own songs. I play my guitar every day for at least an hour so sometimes I come up with something interesting (e.g. a riff, or some chords, or a basic melody). Then I record it with my crappy microphone so that I won't forget it. Then on Saturday when we meet up to rehearse I throw in my ideas and if I'm not the only one who likes them we try to create a song out of it. While we work on the music, our singer tries to come up with lyrics. This way of composing really seems to work for us! :)

Good luck with your song by the way! Did I already say I'm interested to hear it? ;)

I have some bits and pieces of our songs - recorded in our rehearsal room - on my computer, but no MySpace or YouTube samples I'm afraid!

Death Magnetic is a true return to form after albums like Load, Reload and especially St. Anger. My favrourites songs are probably The Day That Never Comes and Cyanide. After I bought the album I didn't really know what to think, but it needed time to grow on me and now it's among my favourite Metallica albums...But no Metallica-album will ever surpass Master Of Puppets!
