Well, their singer, Paul, did Damian's parts on the Ayreon Fanmeet (that's how I know him) and the band supported Threshold in Helmond a short while back. I missed them because of traffic, but I bought the album they had for sale and was pleasantly surprised when I heard it. Eventhough he did a great job singing Damian's lines, his "natural" voice is so much better!
The sound is mostly pop-rock, although some part are pretty downright RAWK.

You can check out their site http://www.adayswork.nl/ and buy the album.

NP  DT: Live At Budokan

Prog heaven  *horns*

I'm in a period where I stick to the fewest bestest  :)

Yesterday my old high school friend Rune defended his Dr. Scient Thesis successfully  *horns*

Afterward there was a big party in the fabulous Danmarks Akvarium. That part was great too  *horns*

The first problem for me and Ms 007 was all the meat. We should'v had Appy and Deenie as standins for that part. It was strange (guess prob only for us veggies) to see the living meat swimmin around in the glass cases and the dead meat (not Paco this time) on the plates  :'(

The second problem was the music. Fortunately the're no roomies to stand in for that part. It was all Steppenwolf, Stones, Fleetwood, and stuff like that. That was all good once upon a time, but like: Welcome to the 21st Century !  When I had nuff and insisted upon them playing The Bonding, the guy took it off even before the refrain and said "You can't dance to that !". Man, I had just worked myself into it, and that sure was danceus interruptus for me  :o ;D

Well, it was great to be with some old friends (not you guys this time - hey, it don't always have to be you guys, huh ? )  :) ;D

And the gin & tonics were sooooo goooood - and mean  ;D   If ever we meet (not with ea), guys .....   ;D  ;)

Is it only Paco and me who are into A.C.T ?

They're a Malmö group. Hope they soon play in their hometown  ;)

Steve, I would certainly think that A.C.T is somethin for you. They're prog-medium, very songbased and melodious, have quizzical lyrics, very tongue-in-cheek (which limeys dig), and with some philosophical depth, very contrasted moods, and lots of fine details, all done super-professionally. And not least: Herman Saming sings real nicely and understandably in English (rare with Scandinavian bands).

Although they're very eclectic, they've developed their own original sound. I would say that they come close to Spocks, but still they're quite different. Maybe also a modern heavier version of Supertramp, a bit like 10cc too. If all this sounds puzzling, well, that's what they are, and in a great way.

Just struck me that hardly anybody else nowadays makes music with so much harmony and voices coming and going.

We're talkin top league here imo   *horns*

Silence is wonderful, and I have the impression that all four of their albums are great. Paco knows more about A.C.T, so maybe he'd like to supplement  :)

NP  A.C.T:  This Wonderful World  (on repeat)  *horns*

ACT is cool! Very song-based, and that's a winner with me.

I don't get that passion for the band, though. I don't know why.

Steve Jones

Thanks for the pointers, people.  I'm all for eclectic so I've just ordered 'Silence' to see how I get on  :)

Not that I'm averse to a bit of acloustic, either...

A.C.T are very slow growers. Require a lot of patient spins. Then they grow like a beautiful red rose. (I have the impression that not all roomies are sufficiently progatient.)  ;)

Like a beautiful red rose (think I just got Bups onto this album too)   ;D
