No "no", now know it's "know".

Maddox, how's Mei?
I was listening to Echolyn's The End Is Beautiful, and it really blew me away.

NP  Ten:  Babylon

"Love like ours burns like fire,
Dusk 'till dawn,
Endless light giving proof,
Love like ours answers why we were born,
I was confused, then there was you,
And love became the law."

Whew !  Really sent my thoughts sailing  :)

I have my eyes on that album too, Steve. Nice to get my hunch confirmed  :)

Mei is one big giant epic. About 49 minutes and it's marvellous.
Many classical instruments are used on this album and it certainly gives you that real symphonic feel. It leans a bit onto the sound of Gentle Giant and a bit more like King Crimson but it definitely has its own touch.
You need to dig your way into this though for it's not an easy album to start with if you're new to Echolyn. But after you reach the core, i'm certain it will grab you by the ... arms.  ;D

And if not: don't blame me. I'm just the messenger.  :P

Edit: Oh, you already listened to The End.  :-[
Sorry, read over that one.
If you like that album then you really will enjoy Mei. Trust me.  :D

After this, I'm off to bed...

You know, I can imagine that!
Although not a real studio album, it has some fine pieces of music. The acoustic guitar piece by John Mitchell for instance. The (mini)album is very cohesive and very good for relaxing.

Marillion - Anoraknophobia
7. This Is The 21st Century

:'( beautiful...

NP  Ten:  Return To Evermore

"Spectral masquerade,
Bathed in streams of twilight,
Echoes of the fire and the flames,
Begin again.
I thought love and hate,
Life and death,
Were finite.
Now I know that after the grave,
It stays the same."

Gary Hughes -  Dreamtide

This guy combines deep philosophy, beautiful poetry, great melody, fine musicianship, and expressive singing in an incredible manifestation of genius  *horns*

What's only more incredible is that he's sooo ignored, even in progworld  :o

Guess - once again - it needs genius to see genius  8)

How long did it take to acknowledge Aristotle ?  And how long will it still take to acknowledge Pythagoras ?

But Gary, just like our two Greek friends, doesnt seem to care. He just does his thing, and gives us one wonderful album after the other.

When you're disgusted with steaks and Madonna, that's what makes it worth living here on earth, guys  *horns*

Expect a full instrumental remix version of this song, guys! :D

(Sounds really cool though, if I say so myself!)

Big Big Train - Bard

My first listen to this CD - and it's excellent...  *horns*

My favourite of theirs would be Gathering Speed, and so far this is as good, IMHO.

Thanks for the tip on this band, Widge...  ;)

Not in the least proggy, but very satisfying if one is in the mood, and I am.

NP  Caamora She - The Bonding

Beautiful  *horns*

"We are the heart of the world -
We are the spiritual force.

It's there in your face, my love -
Never doubt it's a part of you now."

Hey guys, just get the cd  8)

So let's forget about Madonna and F1, Gelly  ;)

NP  Ten:  The One  (on Evermore)

This is real sneaky stuff:  The first time you hear it, it sounds like so much other good classic rock; the tenth time, it sounds like only Ten can sound  *horns*
