NP  DT:  Train of Thought

Prob the most difficult of DT-albums. For me it's mmmmmmmmm  *horns*

Now Bupie and Cap got me interested in Steve L, so I gotta look-at-him ....  :)

So you've come of age

Just look, don't touch, Nicky...

I did that a bit tooo much during the first 47 years, Paco. Then I skipped the "just" and "don't" and started having more fun ....  ;)

NP  DT:  In The Name Of God  *horns*

Blurring the lines
Between virtue and sin
They can't tell
Where God ends
And mankind begins

NP  Kamelot:  This Pain  (on Black Halo)  *horns*

This one is scorching. This is for me the "Kamelot sound".

It's great that they held on to it, and there's even more of it on Ghost Opera.

Whew, this is the real a* and b*s.

Pushing for the limit of sanity
Pushing for the surface
So I can breathe
Dark is the night for us all, but some days
I feel the light crawling down these jagged walls
Blessed sunlight.

Yeah, still on repeat !

Why ?  Because it's *horns* *horns* *horns*

OK Mad, I give in !

This time:  Yankee Doodle Doo !  (because K is a Tampa-group)  ;D

Took me a long time to get into this group. How about you guys ?

Nice. I like it. A lot.

Thanks, Peter. The rest of the album is very good too.

Here's an interesting story: On Johnny Carson's Tonight Show when asked "What is it like to be the greatest guitarist on Earth?" Eddie van Halen answered "Go ask Steve Lukather" :D

I think they are close friends ...

Yeah, Bupie! That song of Steve Lukather is really good.
Very catchy, and not too Toto-ish. ;)

-Paco

Are you sincere Paco (do you notice that I call you Paco for the first time since you are nice with Steve  ;D ?) But you don't know Toto enough (and probably never will  :-\) cause it's very Toto-ish ...

Never too late  ;)  By the way, I re-tried Ten (the Rockers) and had fun. I will tell you on another post.

Comon Mad, they're not that different. You just havent heard GO enough. Give it another go, and another ....  ;)

I dont know which one of them tops, but nevermind, they're both awesome. Kamelot have snuggled up close to DT for me  :)

I'm gonno spin Karma and Epica soon, after:

NP  Robbie Williams:  Rudebox

Surprised ?  Well, guys, Robbie is much more than a professional popstar. He's really on the move, tries out new things, provokes, surprises, and some of it rocks bigtime  *horns*

And if you guys think that Daddy here's gettin all musty and mushy, let me remind you that I'm goin to the Dillinger concert in Cop on Wednesday  :o

Well, the problem is that he doesn't have that much of a nice personality... The music might be good, but with such arrogance and popstar-narcism he ends very low on my respect-list.

If you hear Karma and Epica you'll know why i said it.  ;)
But...
Maybe you're right Maybe i have to hear it a few times more. It might be a grower. Heard it a few times now but i never had that feeling i had with either Halo, Karma or Epica.
What i definitely miss on Opera is that kick-in-your-face feeling that i do have with songs like March Of Mephisto (yes, even with the growls  ;D), When The Lights Are Down and The Haunting (with a rather nice looking lady  ;D). Especially Momento Mori is awesome.

That's what i miss on Opera. There's no single song that pulls the others to a higher plain.
Capiche?  ;)

No not surprised. I think Robby is a true artist.
Sometimes deranged but nevertheless a genius when it comes to making good music.
In fact i even think that he is the King of Pop.  ;)

Capiche?  ;)

No, not at all, at least I dont agree. Man, there's Rule The World, exploding out of the haunting Solitaire, there's The Human Stain and Blücher, as scorching as the best on Halo, and there are all the beautiful tender passages to boot. And the lyrics are as piercing as ever, delivered by one of the greatest rock singers.

So, you got somethin to look forward to, Mad  *horns*

Ghost Opera stands next to Leftoverture (on my shelf), so Bups, maybe you should give it a run too  ;)

NP  After Forever:  Equally Destructive  (on self-titled)

I really dig the contrast betwen the hard-driving part and the ethereal angel choir  *horns*

Kamelot do stuff like that too.

Contrast (dialectics) is one'o'my things !

Great to see that Dutchies can do more than smoke dope and trudge around in the marsh - and laugh at themselves  *horns*

But quite a diff style from KB (and GWB).

Is it Fergie Fredriksen that was Toto's vocalist on Isolation ?

They had a few hick-ups in the past but their latest is very good to say the least.

But...KB?  ??? GWB?  ???

GB could be Grote Beer and GWB could be Grens Wissel Bureau.

Help me out here, Nicky.  :P

I got this song on a sampler that came free with my recent Lacuna Coil purchase.  I gotta say, I like it a lot more than I did the other AF I've heard.  Maybe they're improving?

What makes them interesting, Mad ?

NP  Dillinger:  Ire Works

Just gotit. Completely enraptured (hey, was that the right word ? ).

Anyways, at least as good as their previous stuff. Pretty dark stuff.

Made me think: Maybe Christ needs some dark souls to fathom ....

Whadaya think, Paco ?
