... but Nicky (and secretly me too) are curious to the album called Room V.

I dont know what you mean with this, Paco, but iac I'v had Room V on repeat the past few days. A real masterpiece  *horns*

I added Legacy and and Tyranny to my SL  :)

Today I was at Malmö Main Library, and I used the opportunity to check up on some metal groups that I dont have albums by. They have good CD-players and lend out headsets at the Library.

Stumbled into a group called Cephalic Carnage. They were quite an experience - to say the least. A totally insane - but certainly also melodic - mix of thrash, heavy, dense, grind, crunch, sludge, growl, hydro, doom, rapcore, funk, jazzfusion, alternative, etc. With this group the question is more: What dont they have in their mix ?

And if you wanna see and hear a guitarist who plays twice as fast as Petrucci as naturally as anything, here's your chance. Dont believe me ?  Well, check'm out:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=U63lVAQtuZM

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HCUp8DH_pVg&feature=related

http://www.myspace.com/cephaliccarnage

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cephalic_Carnage

Anybody heard about these guys ?

Here's what their label Relapse writes about them. I can only agree fully. They are really over the top:

"The incomparable CEPHALIC CARNAGE have returned to claim their place as the leaders of metal's new era of extremity with their ferocious new record Xenosapien. CEPHALIC CARNAGE synthesize everything great about metal; from spastic virtuosity to warp-speed grinding to the heaviest rock riffs ever unleashed. Xenosapien's mind-bending, technical insanity/mastery collides head on with the band's brutal metal roots to form their most immediate, hard-hitting, and finest album to date. Xenosapien is unquestionably one of the best heavy records of 2007, and proves once and for all that these unconventional visionaries are set to lead metal well into the 21st century."

Iac it's music that you can listen to many times and continue to discover new things (but not much femininity for Bupie  ;D ).

I have to get some albums by them  *horns*

You asked what Maddox thinks of Room V. Maddox gave his opinion on the band, not on that particular album. So I said that Nicky, and me too, are curious to what Maddox thinks of Room V.

We still didn't get a proper answer Maddox! ;D

Perhaps I should give Shadow Gallery's Room V a next chance, but before that I want to hear your opinion about it Madje!

Well, I have yet to do my two-weeks French course (in France) later this year, so I hope you can forgive me!  ;)

Yeah, I looked it up, Bups. I just couldnt figure what you meant with it in that context. But it doesnt matter.

It meant "don't tell Nicky that you are listening to Nightwish". But I agree, it doesn't matter ...

Quote... in bed - just the two of you - then it wouldnt matter what she sung - olala, you Frenchies  ;D

Wow, Nicky, don't be rude please, that is not what I meant. You believe me when I tell that, don't you ?  ;D

I have a suspicion that you dont play albums through, or kinda lose track of what's goin on along the way, Bups  :D

Objection rejected, your Honor. I have played Room V entirely numerous times and it's very good  but I find it to be a little bit cold in places.

QuoteOne of the best rockers on Room V - and eva - is the last song "Rain".

Yes, it is a favorite of mine too. And there is a nice acoustic version on the SE bonus CD. You know, the one that you don't have. Yes, indeed, life is unfair  ;D

QuoteYou're on the Threshold back to prog  8)

Well, sorry but I will never be a true Threshold fan. They have great songs but I find their albums to be uneven. But I know they have a lot of fans on this forum.

NP Dream Theater - Never Enough  The more I listen to it , the more I like it. An infectious groovy song with significant lyrics ...

Except the music is 1000 times better !

I dont know what it is with the wo*, sorry I mean Italians, but only when they (or their parents) cross the ocean, they start awakening to what prog is, like Mike Romero, John Petrucci, Steve Vai, and Nick D'Virgilio. Down on the boot, they seem quite content eating their spaghetti, thrashing on their guitar, and wailing some Verdi-jive  :'(

Btw Dragonforce have some great videos in this style too, although I find their music rather superficial - but one or two of their videos are quite heavy  *horns*

I disagree! Hahaha! :D

I think Threshold is an amazing band. From Clone to Dead Reckoning they are absolutely fantastic! To be honest I don't like the first three albums that much, although I think Damian Wilson's voice is excellent. Mac's voice suits Threshold much better. It's a shame he had to leave the band...

I've listened to Dead Reckoning and Subsurface and Replica through and through, and I think every song is beautiful. A few days ago I ordered Subsurface and I'm sure I will get Replica too, sometime in the hopefully not too distant future.

Today I was listening to Amaran's Plight. And sure this is good!! I have to put this on my shopping list...

If that's true, than you are no Jesus addict! :D
I already DO know about Jesus, so I cannot stop reading about Him.
By the way, it's not that I keep coming back to Jesus, it's that Jesus keeps coming back to me!

With POS it's different. POS doesn't come to me. If I want to like POS, I have to listen to their music myself. I have to listen to it a couple of times to appreciate it (as is normal with progressive rock eh?).
At the moment I don't like the music that much, but I'm sure that (metaphorically speaking) the flesh would like their music after a couple of times. I'm sure that once I'm hooked to their music, I can't "break free" from it. But the problem is that the lyrics are (to me) not really positive, the atmosphere is not great either. So I don't want to be a captive of POS. ;) Then I won't be missing it either.
