Well, for me that's no argument.

And you like that too?

Quote from: Nicky007 on Tue, 2008-01-22, 14:02:10I guess this as a chance for Daniel to show his wife and kid in some more unusual situations than the usual sweeeeeeet family album  ;)

Paco, prog is about pushing frontiers. We have to be open and await how things impress upon us. As long as nobody gets hurt or abused  :)

Unless you know the concept behind the album.  ;)

Every PoS album is a Concept album.
They always deal about the things you see or don't see or don't want to see everyday.
Abuse is one of them.

I agree that the concepts of PoS are mostly harsh but whether you like it or not, it's here. All around us, happening everyday.  :-\

Cause of Injury: Lack of Adhesive Ducks.

Appelmoes??

Some music you must not see in video clips. It will take away all the charm, or in PoS case, it will be shocking in a way that some people might not like. I'm a HUGE fan of concept album (8 are in my top 10 best albums EVER) and the thing about concept albums is that I like to fantasize about what is sung and played. For example, take Ayreon. If there would be video clips of his music, they would be cheesy as hell, but if you imagine it, it's one EPIC story.

You know, I don't mind a song or two about these subjects, since it's actually happening indeed. But it's the way you show it. This way it is like they promote it.
I don't think you make a statement like that.

You can make music (even a videoclip) about these subjects without actually showing the things you don't approve of. Why would you show it, when you don't encourage it.
It just doesn't make any sense to me.

I was listening to Bjorn Lynne by the way. No videoclips of sex with a bloodsoaked naked, fireburned woman.
Just music of 14 minutes...
Great!

Yes I am, Tom. I have Catch 22. I'v spun it a few times, but havent gotten further than the first 3-4 tracks. I had to untangle my brain after that each time. Pretty dense stuff. But now that I know that you and Mad like'm, I'l give'm some more runs. Let's see.

What do you see in them, Tom ?

And if you like Meshuggah, you must like Cephalic Carnage. So what do you think of them ?

Nicky.

Don't exactly know what I see in them, but somehow their music appeals to me. However, I can understand why you have to untangle your brain after a couple of songs...Sure, I have to be in the right mood to listen to them, but on those moments I ám in the right mood (mostly when I'm frustrated or angry) I always enjoy it. I have to say that actually I'm a bit put off by their vocals (or shall I call them screams?) but their music with all those weird time signatures I fail to comprehend make up for that. Musically I think they're somewhat like Tool, albeit a more extreme version of Tool...

I haven't got the chance yet to listen to Cephalic Carnage, so I have to get back to you on that.

You found a gem here, Tiptom  *horns*

Yeah I downloaded their album Themata and now I'm absolutely sure I'm gonna buy it. I listened to it today and every song on it is great. Their music is so diverse, they can sound like Korn, DT or lets say Redemption or Circus Maximus....in just one song! :o

Nicky, I think you have to get the full album, instead of endlessly listening to those MySpace songs. I'm sure you're gonna love it!

OK, Tom, I'll pm you my bank account nb, so you can transfer some money for CD's.

A year ago there was a short span from MySpace to Amazon orders, but currently I have to painfully save up for each CD, and rummage through CD-stores in Cop and Malmö, which by no means are well supplied with prog  :'(

So my SL is growing ....

NP  Steve Thorne:  Emotional Creatures  (on MySpace)

Rather lite for my taste, but very beautiful. His singing is very expressive and reminds me of Nick Barrett and Ian Bartlett.

Anthony Phillips - Field Day

I forgot to add this to my shopping list. But I'll do that right away! Beautiful acoustic guitar instrumentals. Great for an early morning sunny day.

I agree with you Nicky. Although I have to say that honestly I like CM, and then especially Isolate, a tiny bit better than Redemption. But there's no doubt about it the both of them are great bands. I think they're my favourite discoveries of 2007. Isolate was actually one of my absolute favourites of last year. I just cannot get enough of that album. No matter what song, I just like 'em all! The same goes with Redemption's The Origins Of Ruin, only I play Isolate more often. Not that I like CM better because I play them more often, but I hope you know what I mean. It's a feeling, and so difficult to explain! But yeah, they're both very talented bands! :D
