Shadow Gallery's first album (with Dance of Fools) is a mix of final versions and demos and is, by the band's own admission, not up to par.  "Dance of Fools" is pretty good. To me, the opener sounds just like it was lifted from a Kansas tune.

"Queen" is a nice big slab of prog, no doubt, but there's a part toward the end, a female speaking, that ruins the whole thing. I'd like to hear them re-do that one. As for their other stuff, "Room V" is pretty good, but as a prog band, I'd have to put them 2nd-tier, overall. No comparison with Dream Theater or Arena, f'r instance.

While there's nothing on the SG web site about a current tour, the band has toured in the past, although perhaps never in Europe (they're a U.S. band).

Sometime check out their cover of Genesis' "Entangled" on a Genesis tribute album on Magna Carta records. Not bad.

The Dance Of Fools is from their first album. It's nice but it lacks real power due to the use of Mr. Drumcomputer.

You definitly should hear The Queen Of The City Of Ice though. Almost 18 minutes of pure heaven.

After their first album they got themselves a 'real' drummer and that did them some good.

Indeed not to compare with DT or Arena or any other Big-band, but still very good!

Why do I recognise The Dubliners in it?
I listen too much to my dad's cd's...

The Dubliners are a nice irish folk kwartet, I really like it. I'm not ashamed at all.
In fact it partly has to do with childhood. My dad was listening to The Dubliners when I was 8 years old or something. Now I think they're quite good.
If my dad and I will ever form some kind of a band we would make Prog Folk, a very nice genre I must say!

No, never noticed that and I know both songs very well. I will have to listen to them. But it would be very coincidentally. Nick Barrett writes most of the melody lines for Pendragon, Clive for Arena.

Nice album. It's starting to grow on me. It's not better than II = I and after the first spins i experienced some  -feelings but the more i listen to it, the more i like it.
