Ayreon - Waracle
Arena - Bitter Harvest
Dream Theater - In The Name Of God
Arena - Empire Of A Thousand Days

Now listening to all available Neo Prog music on ProgArchives (except for the ones I already knew).
I try everytime to discover new music.

And I have to say Aufklärung (not a German band but an Italian band (with English lyrics)) is very good! Or at least that one song there.
Good stuff. I have to do this more often!

EDIT: Clepsydra - Fear
Great great great. I like the way he sings, he tries to hard, but it still sounds good!
The guitarwork reminds me a bit of John Mitchell's. And to be honest the only thing that doesn't sound like Arena here are the drums and the voice. Even the dark sphere is present, but less than with Arena.

NP> Dream Theater - Trail Of Tears

To me this is the anthem to 9/11. Though lyrically it has nothing to do with 9/11, which is obvious since it has been written in 1997, some parts of the song are definitly linked to the attack.

Like when you hear "It's raining, raining deep in New York city".  :-\

Every time i hear this song it reminds me of that awefull day.  :(

Pendragon - Masquarade Overture

I've never heard it before, so I'm in for a surprise.

I'm curious, did you like this masterpiece (IMO)?

Sorry, I didn't see that reply untill now (I sometimes feel like looking through all topics, can be such good fun really!).

But I have to say YES! I like it very much actually! :o
I'm now listening to it again (thanks to that spitting through topics) and it strikes me (as much as the first time) Yup it's really good.
In fact it's so good that I'm likely to be tempted to break my promise...
Some Arena-reminding work there (on a certain bit it reminded me so much to Don't Forget To Breath My Friend).
Yeah it's a classic indeed!
I was blinded because of Believe (which isn't that good in my opinion, too much New Age and too less rock) but now my eyes are opened!

Teunis

What an enthusiasm, PH and I fully understand that  ;). In May, when I saw them live, Pendragon played 4 tracks of this album, awesome! I like the album 'Believe', except the screaming/chanting in the track 'We Talked'. Don't understand why they are doing that  :o.

8. Alone Tonight

Everytime when I listen to an album of Genesis I go "This is their best album" but then I listen to another album and I say "This is their best album".
I don't know which album is the best, but Duke certainly is one of my favourites. I really like the keyboards and pianos on this one.
I'm going to listen to it right away, but first I want you all to listen to some samples of "Genesis For Two Grand Pianos". I think it's beautiful!

Genesis For Two Grand Pianos Vol. 1
The Fountain Of Salmacis
Mad Man Moon
Can-Utility And The Coastliners
One For The Vine
Down And Out
Duke's Travels
Evidence Of Autumn

Genesis For Two Grand Pianos Vol. 2
Me And Sarah Jane
Seven Stones
The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway
The Battle Of Epping Forest
Blood On The Rooftops
Eleventh Earl Of Mar
The Cinema Show

Now playing: Genesis - Duke - Behind The Lines

OK I'm listening to something very... artistic now, very experimental.
I'm not sure if I like it. It would be great game-music that's for sure!

ProjeKct X - Heaven And Earth

My schoolteacher gave me a couple CDs to listen to and this was one of them.
The other two are:
Eloy - Time To Turn
Bruford Levin Upper Extremities - B.L.U.E Nights

I have NO IDEA what to expect, but I'm very curious!

To come back on the ProjeKct X, I'm now listening to some more of it, and it's really cool as background music actually! Not sure if I would want to listen to it while doing nothing... I would get bored I guess... But who knows!

Hmm Mike Baker did "Father" on Ayreon's The Human Equation eh?
He did it quite good!
So thanks to you I'm now listening to Shadow Gallery - The Dance Of Fools (on ProgArchives)
I didn't know this was so beautiful! I've never listened to Shadow Gallery before, but I'm now really interested!
Can't believe that they're called Progressive Metal though... It's very soft.
Maybe the next song is more heavy.

Why didn't they do any concerts? I mean, that Ayreon did no concerts I can understand with so many people on stage, but this is just a 5 man band I guess.

EDIT: I fell in love with The Dance Of Fools, oh man what a beautiful song! :'(

Is the whole album that good? :o Please fill me in on that! I really feel a money-spending-mood coming up! ;D
I hope I can still keep my promise not to buy anything the whole month... :(

The Dance Of Fools is from their first album. It's nice but it lacks real power due to the use of Mr. Drumcomputer.  :-\

You definitly should hear The Queen Of The City Of Ice though. Almost 18 minutes of pure heaven.  *horns*

After their first album they got themselves a 'real' drummer and that did them some good.  *horns*
