Actually, i always feel a bit sad when the Sint leaves our tiny homeland again. Not for him actually, though he seems to be a nice guy ( ) but because of the fact that i have to wait about ten months for my sweet filled ehm...Spekuleas?

Do you have Christmas fairs, too in the Netherlands? Then my advice would be: go and have some hot Glühwein as soon as the first fair opens.

Can't start early enough - the Christmas calendars (you know, that stuff for kids - 24 little doors, each one filled with a chocolate figure) have been on sale since end of August and are now selling out rather quickly. I had difficulties to get a decent one for my friend in the US!

But yes, we do have some Christmas fairs but they are no comparison to the fairs in Germany. Been a couple of times to Bonn for instance and i can tell you that Mad's family likes it.
