Not for the faint-hearted. ;)
Reminds me a bit of Cloudkicker.

Isn't it awesome when bands give away their music for free? *horns*

Paxi, I'l check out your tips when I get over to Ms 007 in Malmö on Saturday  :)

After having been shelled by Eumeria, Anubis Gate, and Priest for some days  *horns*   I needed somethin slower, with groove:

NP  Queensrÿche:  Dedicated to Chaos  (on repeat)

Their latest album. Super  *horns*

I seem to be the only one listenin to late Q, or ?

They have worked their way to a quite singular sound  8)

Their albums require quite some tunin in  ;)

But here is one of their more accessible pieces from Chaos, a lovely song:

Queensrÿche:  Around The World    www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1JWWOL-opI

Great group !

Seattle is home to 8 of my pantheon acts:  Queensrÿche, Nevermore, Jeff Loomis, Alice in Chains, Jerry Cantrell, Chris Cornell, Pearl Jam, Eddie Vedder  *horns*

Don't think any other city or region gets there.

Nicky.

Hi Nicky!

I enjoy some Queensrÿche, every now and then. I had a teacher in college who liked them and he gave me "Tribe" to listen to. Love that cd!

Bupie

NP DeeExpus - King Of Number 33

First listen and an exciting one. I like the artwork too but haven't found the time to get into the story and read the psychiatric report yet.

I like that album too.  Hadn't noticed the psychiatric report -- I guess it's about the title character?

JP: Sylvan - Sceneries
     Blind Ego - Mirror
Van der Graaf Generator - Godbluff
     Opeth - Heritage      Getting there...

NP: Anathema - Alternative 4   I guess it is a grower.  I'm finding it more substantial than I did the first couple of spins.

"What is that sound?  It's confusing, and boy is it loud!"

funkster

Off prog and metal at the moment so for a change it is -

The damned - machine gun etiquette
Orange Juice - rip it up
X ray spex - germ free adolescents
The buzzcocks - singles going steady

Sounds like youths showing that they master the basics of metal, but they still have to work their way to their own special touch  ;)

Paxi, if you like this sorta sound, and you want something more developed, then try out Eumeria  :)

The Deadstation - "Episode 01: Like Peering Into The Deepest Ocean Abyss"

Sounds good!

Betcha !  Sounds real good  *horns*

Gonna keep an eye on these guys. Hope they make a cd release soon.

The names of the musicians are new to me, but Jens Bogren, who mastered the album, warrants quality.

Thanx, Paxi  :)

I guess too but I still have to read it.

Warning : the comments to come are especially dedicated to Funkster ...  ;)

PP Ultravox ! - Ultravox !
PP Ultravox ! - Ha !- Ha !- Ha!
PP Ultravox - Systems Of Romance

I had sparse souvenirs of those three first Ultravox albums with John Foxx. I bought remastered versions with bonuses and those extended sleeve notes that I am always eager for, whatever the band. Ultravox ! has the freshness and emergency of a debut album and it includes the fantastic The Wild, The Beautiful and the Damned. Ha !- Ha !- Ha! is probably the most consistent of the bunch : a convincing mix of punk rock and new wave keyboards, with no real stand-out track but a lot of good ones (Hiroshima Mon Amour, The Man Who Dies Every Day ...). For Systems Of Romance, they dropped their "!" and their guitarist (as they thought he was too stuck in the punk rock style) : considering the soporific result, I guess the second move was not a good one  :P I can understand why Island dropped them too afterwards.  The next album would be a completely different beast but Funky already knows this one  :)

NP UFO - Seven Deadly

Bupie

NP Orphaned Land - Mabool 8) Getting better at each listen !

Bupie

NP Martin Orford - The old Road  8)

NP  Pantera:  The Great Southern Trendkill

The band was fallin apart at the time (1996), but it sure is good that they pulled thru with this album: highly original, groundbreaking, gripping, heart-rending  *horns*

But definitely not for the faint-hearted They can stick to Megadeth  ;)
