I also got and enjoy that DeeExpus album.  Somehow I got the idea that Seventh Wonder and Wolverine were metal bands, and I don't think I've even heard of Darkwater before.  Guess my list of bands to check out just got longer.
It also works the other way round. If you like DeeExpus, you'll not be disappointed with Seventh Wonder and Wolverine ;).

np: Gazpacho - London
'I will surrender my heart to the sky
Oh, our love doesn't end here, it lives forever on the wings of time'

Toto - Wings of time (Kingdom of Desire)

Just played this album, followed by the Jadis album 'More Than Meets The Eye'.
This first Jadis album is the one I like best. I have never been so impressed by its followers. Do you have the 2 CDs version, Teunis ? I really love the song This Changing Face that is on CD2. It seems that I have to check DeeExpus and Discipline in a near future.

PP Wishbone Ash - Argus A classic. Everybody should have listened to it at least once.

NP Porcupine Tree - Stars Die

Heritage by Opeth and actually enjoying it after some rubbish reviews

Nicky, i think Slither is more a tribute in the music to RJD than the lyrics but i could be wrong

You could be right .....  :)

NP  Orphaned Land:  ORwarriOR

It's nice, but even on third listen it's musically nothing like Mabool  :-\

Mad, what do you think ?

Nicky.
So you've come of age
And so you want to meet God
Sure you can
He's right here next to me

NP  Annihilator:  Metal   Bonus CD  *horns*

They'r not really a progmetal band, they just know how to make metal sound reeeal good, and they keep ya spellbound song after song. That's why they have a special place in my prog pantheon  8)

Annihilator is also where Mike II banged around before joining DT  :)

Funky, if you don't know this band, then go out and get Metal - rightaway ! - Bupie too  ;)

You get a bonus cd too, with some great songs from earlier albums.

Nicky.

tosh as well. Good band though but lost touch with them after 1991

PP Orphaned Land - Mabool Great, great, great and no problem with the growls here :)

NP Seventh Wonder - Waiting In The Wings  Great too. The title track is an impressive mini-epic, Not An Angel has one of the most addictive choruses I have heard and so on ...

NP  Eumeria:  Rebel Mind   *horns* *horns* *horns*

This is my fave album these days. These guys came outta nowhere  ???  crashing into the prog scene, at a time when DT and Opeth are a bit down, and Nevermore seem to be never more  :(   and currently Eumeria are the flagbearers of prog  8)  imo, of course

These things happen fast in progworld, cuz talent counts  ;)

Guys, you don't need to listen to pussy music  :P

Betcha  *horns*

The only minus is that the lyrics on the first two albums seem to me rather simple-minded  :-\

NP  Jeff Loomis:  Plains of Oblivion

Man, this guy is unbelievable  *horns* *horns* *horns*

A continuous stream of mind-blowing music  :o

Try this, guys - those who dare:

Jeff Loomis:  The Ultimatum   www.youtube.com/watch?v=CNoFS1d9fcY&feature=related

There's even some natural female singing, by Christine Rhoades, you wouldn't expect that on an album like this, but it works  8)

SW is clearly a metal band  :)

One of the joys of being a proggie  ;)

I don't really need to add any - except maybe Sun Caged in the fly, think ya'l like'm - you got good momentum  8)

Just checked yer LP (the first post). I can pretty much subscribe to all of it - altho my LP is somewhat longer  :-[

Noted that you wrote:  "Led Zeppelin (Houses of the Holy, 4th album – really could pick any of them)"

I gather that you regard Zep as one of the biggies. I'd be curious to know where you'd place them at rock's top ?

Just played:
Marillion - "Script For A Jester's Tear"

Possibly the very first Neo-Prog album. And a very good one at that.

Now playing:
Marillion - "Seasons End"

After all these years, it remains a very good album!
