The Butterfly Man

I was thinking exactly the same.
I think when Hogarth sings in a very emotional way (like only he can!) he isn't pretending.
He is a very emotional person and his emotions are real, even when he's reproducing the song in a live setting time after time.

A perfect example of this would be his reaction after Fantastic Place on Marbles On The Road.

What was his reaction then?

I'm not sure so I'll let Tom answer that one.  I think I know what he's referring to, but without digging out the DVD I'm not 100%

When the song has finished you can clearly see he put his heart and soul in the performance: He looks exhausted! I believe he actually gets a bit emotional when he sees the crowd go wild after the last note.

I also don't have the DVD with me at this moment, but I hope I remember correctly! Was this what you were thinking of as well Steve?

I'm still not sure without watching the DVD.  I remember a bit where his voice seems to go but I can't remember the circumstances.  Hell, I might even be thinking of a different DVD! ;D

They have an option to get it sent on a physical CD (also free, I believe), but it would take a while to get here from the U.K. and although I like to have a copy with a real CD and cover art, I think I can forgo that with a sampler, especially since I'll buy the CDs the songs are on if I like them enough (already have the one from Afraid of Sunlight).

If you've got the same ones as me then the first two tracks are from the latest (Happiness) album.  Two particularly strong tunes IMHO.  Couldn't stop singing them when I first got the CDs  8)

It's a good while since I last played any Bush.  It's even longer since I last saw them, if the tightness of my tour t-shirt is anything to go by! :-[

Yes, all t-shirts should come with a warning label that everyone should buy the largest size available regardless of what they wear at the time.   :-\

"Mmmm...donuts." - Homer Simpson

Have you noticed that there's a "Steven Wilson riff" that he tends to play many of the times he's in serious guitar mode?   I'm not complaining -- it's quite a good riff.  I've just noticed it in a enough places that it now seems like his signature guitar sound.
