Quite nice, and somewhat prog. I'v never listened to this band before, altho they're quite popular in Denmark. Their leader André Andersen "is a mix of Danish and Georgian Royal blood and is a musical genius who can virtually play any instrument, compose, write lyrics and produce all at the same time."

What's gripped me most initially is that the guitarist Marcus Jidell (Swedish) delivers some terrific solos  *horns*   so, Tom  ;)

Anyone else into this group ?

I'm listening to:

Il Bacio Della Medusa - Discesa Agl'Inferi D'Un Giovane Amante
12. Epilogo: Conclusione Della Discesa Agl'Inferi D'Un Giovane Amante

The album was very nice. :)
And the last few seconds sounded like a direct copy of Dream Theater's Space-Dye Vest. ???

Right, Paxi. He was with them 1994-98, sang on the albums Moving Target (1995), Far Away (1995), 1996 (1997), Paradox (1997), and Closing the Chapter (1998).

The Great Gig In The Sky

The 'singing' scares me a bit. :-[

From Songfacts:  "This is one of a few Pink Floyd songs to use a female vocal. They wanted a girl to scream on it like she was having an orgasm. Their engineer, Alan Parsons, brought in a singer he knew named Clare Torry. They had to specifically tell her not to form words. On the Dark Side Of The Moon DVD you can see the band along with engineer Alan Parsons just watching her in amazement as she nails it in one take."

The video on Songfacts is an excerpt from Delicate Sound Of Thunder. It's Rachel Fury doing the scat singing.

Now Tom, there might be something here that I have to explain to you .....  ;D

Yeah Nickster, I read that too. But that's never confirmed. In fact, I read somewhere else that they told the singer to think about depressing things.
That's quite a contrast don't you think? ;)

Whatever, it's a good story, Paxi  ;D

And for a Calvinist like you, a female orgasm is supposed to be depressing  :P

Savatage... Savatage... Aren't those the guys who also did Trans-Siberian Orchestra's Christmas albums?
Those were really nice! ;D

Today I played:
A.C.T - Silence
A.C.T - Last Epic
Arena - Contagium

Last Epic + Contagium is exactly how much time it takes from Utrecht to Amersfoort by train. :)

A little, although to me they're one of the zillions of bands out there that are certainly good but not top-of-the-pile.  Magellan's one of those I own, though, and I do like it.

Uhmm... I made a mistake...

When I said "Utrecht" I meant my "school in Utrecht" and when I meant "Amersfoort" I meant "my house".
From Utrecht station to Amersfoort station it's barely 15 minutes, twenty minutes max.

Yeah that seems more like it. I remember travelling from Rotterdam to Amersfoort last september with a stop-over in Utrecht and from there it only took about 15 minutes. But yeah, you never know exactly what you're up to when travelling by train... ;)

Anyway.......
