Not as tissue-intensive as Tardigrade

A timely reminder as I'd forgotten I wanted to try Simon Says.  Just ordered Tardigrade.  *horns*

Well they (Frost*) were supporting Spock's Beard yesterday on their show in de Boerderij, Zoetermeer and they were selling this special 'gig-cd' at their stand, which I (obviously) bought. There are only 5 tracks to be found on it but among those tracks are 2 songs from the forthcoming album, namely 'Experiments In Mass Appeal' and 'Wonderland'. There's also an enhanced section with a special Frost* Report on it. As usual, it's hilarious to say the least :D...

NP  Peter Gabriel:  So

I agree with Paxi that post-Genesis Gabriel was more pop than prog, except for the extraordinary soundtrack for The Last Temptation of Christ.

OK, wonderful emotional pop, but still disappointing, considering that this was the guy who was the driving force behind The Lamb and Selling England.

Yes sold out a bit, with 90125 and a couple of other albums, Rick and Jon made a lotta mush outside of Yes (also some works of genius), and Steve Howe wasted his talent on Asia; the remaining three Floyd guys sold out a bit after Roger left, with A Momentary Lapse and The Division Bell; but except for Steve Hackett, all the Genesis guys sold out bigtime. I mean, what took'em ?  Anyone here got an explanation ?

NP  Céline Dion:  The Power Of Love

Man, was this a surprise, what stunning singing  *horns*

I hadnt noticed Céline much before, but this blew me entirely away.

OK, it's pop, and it's romantic, but honestly guys, aint we all that too ?

The Power Of Love is actually co-written and originally recorded by Jennifer Rush in 1985. Céline's version is from 1993. Both Jennifer and Céline were tremendously successful with their recordings of this song.

OK, some of you guys will have heard it at the time, but I was away from rock then - so I get some surprises occasionally from those years.

Hey, that's nasty, Steve !

;D

OK, the compositions aint original in any sense, but the lady sure can sing. Listen to the way she moves easily and precisely over enormous ranges, colors the tones, and adds flourishes. Awesome, is what I say !

Don't worry about it, you're among friends here.  I'm sure the odd embarassing, cringeworthy, inexplicable lapse of judgement will be forgiven - hence I 'fessed up to Thompson Twins a couple of days ago.  A first offence doesn't normally carry a jail sentence!  ;) ;D ;)

One day I might tell you about the time I saw Cliff Richard... :-[

It is an interesting question.

I guess when most artists create outside of their usual environments they no longer feel shackled by having to agree on songs etc. so they can produce whatever they want.

As for selling out I will admit that 90125 is my least favorite Yes album (apart from open your eyes) but I guess it sorted their pensions out.

I know that iin this country the media will basically ignore anything prog as they have decided that none of it can be any good without having to listen to it!

Peter Gabriel just went in a different direction maybe he decided that  he had taken the music as far as it could go.

The three floydies made in my opinion 2 cracking albums different fromm the 70's floyd but very enjoyable non the less and obviously the bonus from these albums was getting to see them live again.
