So, James tells them he's in Metallica and get's taken aside, half of the band Stream of Passion doesn't even get into England Sorry to say this, but brittisch officials are REALLy stupid... What happened to SoP was indeed stupid to say the least but you have to admit, Metallica is a bit more famous than SoP and i presume that with all the management riding along the Metallica roller coaster the problem can be solved quite easily.

Or maybe they learned a few lessons since SoP which they should have.

SoP also had ALL the papers they needed, Everybody the officials called vouched for SoP, but still they didn't let them in. And now this, staying a man (this time James, but it could be any man wearing a beard like that) because he has a beard like some Taliban members have? That's just pure discrimination in my book

If you put it that way than i agree with you. Though i must point out that i understand why they do that. It's necessary to stay vigilant on locations such like an airport.
The reason why they refused SoP to enter England is also beyond my comprehension. A lot of people, including you really looked forward to it, which obviously the officials can't take that in consideration, but like you said they had all the papers so...

Indeed but i've seen a few photo's and they definitely have hair upon they're heads.   It's a custom btw just like the beard thingy. Without it you wouldn't be a Taliban.

They're not my favourite bunch of people to hang around with.
And if I wanted to hang around with them (heh... if I could find them...), they certainly don't want to hang around with me.

I'm sure that every country has it's flaws though safety must be top priority. Like i said, i can understand why they did it although i believe that the people who are 'suspects' should be treated with the same respect as anybody else. After all, a man/woman is innocent until proven guilty. We had a discussion over here in the Netherlands a while back which was based around the question 'is it allowed to temper our human rights for the sake of safety?'. I personally think it is up to an extent. And there you go. Which is tolerant for one can be insulting to another.  No one is the same.

Nicky asked why we are having this discussion. Well, it started off as a joke, for me that is. I thought the story was funny but when you look it in a different perspective it does change into something ugly. Though this discussion has nothing to do with music whatsoever i do think it's a good discussion since we're all human and walk on the same earth.
