Does she know that it's the birthplace of the great group Judas Priest, Iggy ?

Guess if Rob had been straight, he would'v snitched her  ;D

It's weird:  I havent been to B'ham since I was about eight, and that was only a two-day visit. ( I remember that I got my sis to spirit away the contents of the newspaper glass for my coin collection (but don't tell'm at the hotel)  ;D )

But Ms 007 and I are (or at least I am) talkin bout takin a trip around the UK for our honeymoon. Iggy, if ya got some bitters in the fridge, and some Priest on the hifi, we'd like to come by  ;)  (Greenie, we won't pass by you, cause Ms don't like Guinness and green men)  ;)

Got a great inductee in my 1990 slot at last:  Priest's A Touch Of Evil  *horns*

Anyone say "Priest mania" ?  ;D

Nicky.
So you've come of age

Well, for someone self-proclamed extremely religious, it took you a very long time to finally turn to the Priest, me thinks  ;D

Tellya, she was ... woo-hoo-hoo  :o

Then seriously, Bups, I'd think that Priest would be somethin for you too, one of the most intelligent hard-heavy bands around, without being tooo heavy and growlish  ;)

Probably but in the esoteric department, I am more interested by UFOs than by priests at the moment. But that could change : give me a little time to digest the twenty or so UFO studio albums while you do the same with the -probably, I didn't check- similar amount of Priest albums  ;)

I think that Halford's voice is a bit too much on the screaming side for my taste, though  :(

The Bitter doesn't live in the fridge. And Priest don't live on the hifi. In fact I don't believe I have any JP in my collection.   :o

Right, I can understand that some people think so. Rob's style is similar to early Geddy Lee, and both seem to have taken over from Percy.

Personally tho I consider Rob one of the most exciting singers around.

He has mellowed a lot with time (like the other guys). On Nostradamus he's less wild but just as expressive, maybe even more so.

Bitter is supposed to be warm not cold.  >:(

Lager needs to be cold to make it taste better.  ;D

A bit like cheap white wine.

Must be due to the time Nicky spent over here as a boy.  Pretty much all of us over here want all our beer cold, including me.  We even brew some that is worthy of being tasted nowadays, and we still feel that way.  Bud, however, can't be made to taste good no matter how cold you make it.

Pretending to be on topic: Woo, Priest!
"What is that sound?  It's confusing, and boy is it loud!"

maddox

I can't imagine a beer that is well served warm.  :o

That has the ability to give you a slight but ever present headache.  :-\

Beer ---> cold.

Period.

Ontopic, just like our little green man: Priest!  *horns*

I've recently obtained [read: downloaded] Nostradamus, because of Nick's recommendation.
I've heard the first cd.

It's good.
But if i may say so, it has does reminds me of King Daimond from time to time.

Some beers, like Chimay, are so good that you can drink'm at room temperature, but they certainly improve with cooling.

Well, maybe the 'foreign' beers are different but over here when you'll drink warm/room temperature beers, you're bound to get some stomach problems.
Or it'll just hit you in the face. Drunk after one sip of beer.

Horrific.  :-X :-X :-X

Nicky.

Maybe far fetched but you have to admit that there are similarities between both bands.
High scream like singing, a tad dark lyrics (though Daimond's are more horror-ish then Priest's), metal like the old days.

The only real difference besides the age of the bands is that Priest sings more about Heavy Metal.
Tracks like Ram It Down and Heavy Metal are proof of that.

Mad, what I'v tried to bring across is that Nostradamus is a very special album, of enormous scope like The Wall, and in many ways similar to it.

Give it some runs and time to sink in  ;) :)

Mud, 2 is either night (a.m.) or afternoon (p.m.) ::)

;D

Did some editing:  Realised that Metallica had to be pantheon, and that probably the Black album is my fave with'm.

Moved Phideaux higher up my SL, as they seem to be hot with several Roomies now.

Added some Priest albums.

And Them Crooked Vultures, a collaboration of John Paul Jones, Josh Homme, and Dave Grohl. Exciting !  Got good reviews too  8)

But next purchase, definitely: PT's Incident  *horns*

The Black Album (aka Smell the Glove if you're a Spinal Tap fan) is the only Metallica I have actually.  It's quite good, although it got massive airplay here, so I'm a little tired of it.  The albums after it seemed sort of ho-hum.  I think their hardcore fans prefer the earlier stuff.

Phideaux:  *horns*  'nuff said.

Added Avenged Sevenfold to my pantheon. Their City of Evil is ... well, evil - in the good sense  :)

I also listened to some tracks from their latest self-titled album on MySpace, which I also enjoyed a lot.

Surprisingly versatile band, and M. Shadows is a stunning singer.

Well, guys, you got some good stuff waitin for ya, if/when ya feel like some topnotch progmetal: A7, Nostradamus, Jeff Loomis, Trivium's latest stuff, Into Eternity  ;)

Added Cloudscape to my pantheon  8)

Man, do these guys rock !!!

"I am the myth, enlightened and above you all
I inherit the haven which nature provides
A threshold to aquatic landscapes

Above the surface the gateway rises
Enter the island, see whats beneath
Only an entrance, never an exit
Limited access ends life as you know it

The ocean gave and I gave it back
Gods of the deep see my creations
To see their excellence throw away your prejudice

Crash into the waves
Feeling the cold
Down below
Make your final dive into the sea
Welcome to this world"

- Aqua 275

Cap, somethin for you ?  ;)

If you like Avenged 7fold than you'd be happy to know that they've entered the studio with a certain M. Portnoy to record a new album.  ;)
