Hm, I would'v sworn that there was a Circus Maximus thread here, but I simply couldnt find it  :-\

Iac, good news guys (from Wikipedia):

The band posted this message in their website: "Circus Maximus will now be entering the studio to start the pre-production of the next album, planned to be released late 2010. We are writing new stuff everyday and so far we have more or less 8 songs completed for the album and we can honestly tell you it sounds AMAZING! Can't wait to show you ;) We would like to thank everyone who have been supporting us throughout the years... you're the best! - Truls, Mats, Lasse, Glen and Michael."

According to the band's official forums, on the 22nd June 2010 Michael Eriksen posted some news on the recording process and said "Yesterday Mats and myself hit the studio to start the vocals on one of the tracks", he later mentioned that "We will have some videos up and running for you in a bit".

Well, that news is a bit dated, isn't it?

Latest news:

Apr 28, 2011 - Statement
Decoded message from Circus land....

As many of you have been wondering, what has been, or is going on in the CM camp these days? What is the status on the recording on the new album? Well... To give you the short and brutal version, here is where we are today:

After finishing the drum tracks in November, the band took the Christmas holidays off, presuming to start up right over new years with drum editing, and continue with guitar, bass, keys and vocals right after that. What we didn't plan out as a result of Mats` grueling long hours in front of the computer, editing drums, was that he got arm inflammation in both arms. Because of this, both the drum editing (that was over half ways finished), and upcoming rhythm guitar tracking had to be postponed until further notice. With this, and other personal/family stuff that had to be dealt with, the recording process stagnated quite a bit.

On a positive note: Mats' arm injury has improved a great deal, and the drum-editing is finished, the band has been rehearsing for their upcoming shows in May and we are filming more for the "Rockumentary" this weekend up in the mountains of Trysi (Guess there will be more drunken madness than interviews, because it's Mikey's birthday as well).

We are glad to tell you all that things are looking better nowadays with the speed bumps and hickups out of the way, and that we will be putting the "pedal to the metal" on the recordings from mid May. Circus Maximus is truly greatful for all the support that has been shown, as well as your patience and understanding. There wouldn't be a Circus Maximus without you, the fans. That makes you a little Circus Maximus too... hehe.

All the best,
CM

Bupie

As I mentioned on the Now Playing thread, Circus Maximus released yesterday a live concert on youtube : http://youtu.be/qjgskpEkmUA

Fans helped to raise funds for it and as far as I am concerned, it was well worth.

The gig took place at the Loud Park Festival in Tokyo in 2012. Since the band was only allowed a 40 minutes show, they chose a setlist with short songs. So no epics apart from the closing Last Goodbye. But it is nevertheless stunning. If some of you don't like the first song, Namaste, which is rather heavy, please at least go for I Am, Game Of Life or Last Goodbye, this last one being just out of this world, especially the intro  *horns*
