Well, and that's not a good sign...

Wow, that's a really lame joke, but someone had to do it.

As always before a gig -this time it will be on Tuesday- I am doing my homework. Big Calm and The Antidote, I don't need to revisit since I played them countless times. Who Can You Trust and Fragments Of Freedom are coming next in my CD player. Let's call it trip-hop day  :)

NP  Kalisia:  Cybion

www.youtube.com/watch?v=x0f_N6nTpmA

Surprisingly good  *horns*

French group (from Nîmes), remind me most of all of Therion, but more energetic. Some listeners say Ayreon (and in fact Arjen does some singing on Cybion), but more metal.

Very eclectic, got metal, growl, angel choirs ... and everything in-between  ;)

Definitely somethin for Roomies - if you'r willing to try out somethin new  :P

If one is open and searching, one is led strange - and often joyous - ways: My way to Kalisia was thru To-Mera. Brett Caldas-Lima was the sound technician, producer + more on To-Mera's fabulous Transcendental, and he sure did a phenomenal job, so of course I had to check him up. Turned out that he was the mainman and singer of a group called Kalisia, which I had never heard of before. So here's another great group to listen to  8)

Glad you like them! :)

I was quite saddened by the fact that they quit the band.
I got acquainted with them after the release of Seven Circles and bought almost their entire catalog on a cd-fair in Utrecht (Netherlands).
Officially they reunited some while back, 2011 I think, but they are still in the 'writing-proces'.
Can't be sure, but I think I read an article a while back that said that they were making a live-dvd.

Hope to hear from them real soon. :)

About the French bands aforementioned, we have a French proverb (derived from the Bible) that says : "Nul n'est prophète en son pays". To make it short, I still have to check them all.

Another French band that I can recommend from the bits that I have heard is Spheric Universe Experience : http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=2794 . Another band named Lazuli seems interesting too.

NP Dream Theater - Systematic Chaos

Best-known territory. I don't get all the criticism about this one  :P The ant-based artwork is pretty cool too.
