NP  Arena:  Lions Cage

One of the great classic albums  *horns*

Hey guys, am I the only one in the world who listens to this fine album ?  Are you supposed to be Arena fans  ;)

Reach out, grab it, and get it going on your cd-player. Read my take on Out Of The Wilderness (somewhere in the archives). I don't think anyone has read it properly; it's worth more than that .....  :)

Absolutely not! As I said in the review topic: "Arena's debut album is a masterpiece. In my opinion it is one of the best Neo-Prog albums of the nineties. Better than Pendragon's "The Masquerade Overture" and Marillion's "Brave"."

Actually, I think only "The Visitor" is better. In fact, "The Visitor" and "Songs From The Lions Cage" are the best albums of the nineties in my cd collection.
I'm simply in love with Clive Nolan's synth sounds and composer skills.

So we're two, maybe more  ???

Clive writes some highly interesting, challenging lyrics. I think that on Lions Cage he has some real far-ranging perspectives - I'm not sure, but that's how I read'm.

NP: Marillion - Marbles (with extra plays of Ocean Cloud -- Mr. Jones was correct that it would be insane to buy the version without this wonderful song.)
JP:  Marillion - Afraid of Sunlight

I've been playing very little music lately, except while driving -- a hazard of doing other things on my computer that involve sound.  :P

In my car, I have 3 - 2CD albums on rotation, which I think I mentioned last time I posted:

Riverside - S.O.N.G.S.   The recording of the first song continues to bother me, but I'm getting used to most of the rest of the album.

Echolyn - Echolyn         I'm impressed with this -- a lot stronger than the stray songs I'd heard from them before.

Porcupine Tree - Octane Twisted    Awesome.  I want to see these guys live badly now.

"What is that sound?  It's confusing, and boy is it loud!"

Five Finger Death Punch:  Far from Home

"I dedicate this video to the men and women who have fought and who are still fighting for our country."

"All the places I've been and things I've seen
A million stories that made up a million shattered dreams
The faces of people I'll never see again
And I can't seem to find my way home

Cause it's almost like
Your heaven's trying everything to break me down
Cause it's almost like
Your heaven's trying everything to keep me out"
