I'll give it a listen when I'm actually awake.  I'm sleep-typing at this point.   ;)

I went here cause of Mike Slamer. He's the guitarist and main songwriter in SL. He did some remarkable work in City Boy, one'o my pantheon groups  *horns*

SL remind me initially of Toto. Turns out that despite Mike being British, SL are based in California. (Mike relocated there after CB.) So, teutonic Roomies  ;)

However, I can recognise Mike Slamer's very special playin  8)

Nice vocal harmonies too(too)  :)

Mike's worked together with Steve Walsh and Billy Greer of Kansas too, an influence one can hear in SL.

Magnum - Into the valley of the moonking. A bit of a mix between the last album and some vibes from the very early days, around Magnum II. As always, I love it!

Super album, and I'm still trying to figure out where that reviewer I read came up with the claim that this one goes back to the spacey psychedelia of their early stuff.   ???   IMO, this is one of their heaviest albums and one of their best.  I'm particularly fond of "The Blind House" and "Drawing the Line"

Now ripping and playing: Phideaux (typed correctly) - The Great Leap

This is supposed to be part 1 of the "trilogy" of which Doomsday Afternoon is part 2 and Number Seven is NOT part 3.    ::)

Though i do agree with that certain reviewer that the album contains some elements that reminds me of the early albums like The Sky Moves Sideways and Up The Downstair (at least, i think that that is what the reviewer means) it is in no way even close to those albums as a whole.
I more think about albums like Deadwing, In Absentia and Stupid Dream.

Well actually you do. ;)

I've downloaded this bootleg, recorded by a member of the VUK forum. It's from the Leeds Concert a few days prior to Amsterdam.
The sound quality is excellent for a bootleg.

Thanks for the tip!! 8) I had to think hard to remember my username and password for VoicesUK but I got in and am downloading as we speak!

Yes, it was quite a concert last week. Where were you standing? I stood about 10 meters from the stage, between John Wesley and Steven Wilson. I've read a lot of complaints about the sound, but surprisingly the sound was great from where I was standing. I didn't even need my earplugs! :)

I stood about twenty meters from the stage, a bit to the left.
After The Incident, we moved further to the left towards the exit doors ( and surprisingly very close to the bar  ;)) because one of the guys who i went to the concert with, was getting pretty tired and his back hurt.

I didn't mind the sound much but it indeed was quite hard. It just hits you in the face.
It didn't do much good to the tracks of The Incident but as the concert continued it did got better.

Hearing the Leeds-bootleg, makes me relive it once again and it was a good concert indeed.  *horns*
