I haven't heard that one, in fact.  Is it Weezer-like?

Some tracks would certainly not be out-of-place on a Weezer album.  Great sound quality and catchy tunes *horns*

Edit: NP Frank Black and the Catholics - Frank Black and the Catholics
I enjoyed it so much I'm playing it again 8)

The Butterfly Man

NP: OSI - Blood

I'm really beginning to dig this one. In fact, I think it's OSI's most complete album yet. I love their formula of (very) heavy guitars and experimental keyboards together with Kevin Moore's vocals. And Gavin Harrisons' drumming doesn't sound too bad either...

Favourite tracks so far:

- The Escape Artist
- Radiologue
- Stockholm (with vocals by Mikael Ã…kerfeldt)

NP: AC/DC - The Razor's Edge - 1. Thunderstruck

Don't have time for a whole album right now, but I can always listen to the ridiculous guitar on 'Thunderstruck'.   *horns*

??? I only have the Live At Donington version of the song since I gave up on AC/CD after Back In Black (except for the LAD) but I think that, although rather unusual for AC/DC, the guitar works well in this song ...

For the anecdote, the climbing club I'm part of organizes international climbing competitions and always plays Thunderstruck to warm up the audience while the climbers are observing the routes. And I must say that it is pretty effective  *horns*

NP - Saga : In Transit

It's safe to say that this one is not heavy at all. Honest keyboards-driven pop-rock typical of the early 80's. Not bad but not outstanding either.

Allow me to clarify.  When I said 'Thunderstruck' had 'ridiculous guitar', I meant ridiculously cool -- I like it a lot.  In general, I consider AC/DC a fun band but definitely not great 'art'.  Razor's Edge is actually the only album of theirs I own, and I got it cheap.   ;D

NP: Gazpacho - Night

This is great art.

Not sure if it's art, but... *horns*

Agreed.   *horns*

Their debut album might be art.  As I recall, it's sort of proggy in a scare-the-crap-out-of-regular-folks way.   :)

NP:  Gazpacho - Tick Tock

I haven't been this excited about a new musical find since Arena.  Ok, well, maybe Devin.  And sort of Porcupine Tree, although they kind of snuck up on me rather than bashing me over the head with their greatness on the first listen.  I suppose I could name a few more bands too, but then I'd start to sound like Steve Martin in The Jerk, which is, BTW, the greatest stupid movie of all time IMO.

I'm impressed with the actual 'Tick Tock Parts 1 - n' themselves, but I can take or leave the rest of the album so far.  Perhaps it'll grow on me as I play it more, but for now I'm still getting the 'too much like Muse' vibe that the previous albums gave me on Last.FM.

NP: Meat Puppets - Too High to Die.  Awesome album.  When it first came out a single was played on some un-memorable Saturday morning music show that the young'un was watching.  I zoomed straight into Birmingham and bought the album, although I can't recall if I was served by an Ozzy-speaking native.  Probably ;D

Interesting.  'Desert Flight' wowed me right out of the gate.  It's probably still my favorite song, but I really find the album strong throughout.   Night took a few listens before it set in, but now I like it nearly as much as Tick Tock.
I don't really know Muse.  I've heard a few of their songs via Pandora, and my impression is that they have their moments, but I'm not excited enough to get an album.

Pretty much my take on them, except I'd bought 4 albums before I arrived at that conclusion ;)

Same for me, except three albums. I rarely play'm nowadays, and if, it's when I'm together with people who can't take metal.

NP  Mike Oldfield:  Exposed

Admittedly, this music belongs to a prior rock era, but I can still feel the excitement of those bygone days  8)

If you want an album by Mike Oldfield, then Exposed is a good choice. Includes an excellent live rendition of Tubular Bells.

Playing Dream Theater's Free Song.
Sounds ok to me. Not in a "OMG it's $%^ FantasTCI!!!11!" kinda way.

But the whole album will please, I'm sure.

Hmm... perhaps I didn't make myself clear.

It's absolutely not bad, but I cannot say that my heart was filled with joy when the first tones of music set in. (Or the last tones for that matter.)
Perhaps I'm not much of the fanboy I'd often like to be.
But I'm totally confident that the album (as a whole) will do perfectly fine! 8)

I haven't heard Mike in years, but gets my seal of approval.  I remember liking Crises in particular.  Probably good earphone music; I should get a CD or two.

Just listened to Karmakanic - Who's the Boss in the Factory? on the iPod while away from the computer.  Absolutely tip-top album, jolly excellent.

Now back to XTC on the computer...
