Gong - Shamal.

The Shamal tour was the first time I saw Gong, and I remember being disappointed that Steve Hillage wasn't with them but bowled over by how bl**dy excellent they were.  Anyway, as it turned out there would be plenty of chances to see Hillage play in his own right in the coming years

Perhaps some of it's a function of location, but still, I get the feeling that anyone who can say "the first time I saw Gong" in all seriousness is among the elite of prog connoisseurs.

Well, outside his bedroom.  If they had been actually in his bedroom, Michael Stipe would surely have broken a leg tripping over all the junk on the floor.  My brother's much less messy now that he has children to be messy for him.

It's entirely possible that Michael Stipe is a house-elf.  Have you ever seen him and Dobby in the same place at the same time?
