Yes indeed... I think that's facinating actually. Every band or artist has a few themes. Steven Wilson's theme is "Trains"... Why? Interesting.

In an interview he once said (something like) it was because there was always the sound of trains in the distance when he was young.  It's not that he's got an enthusiasm for trains, as such, just the emotions the memories conjure up.  Or something like that - I'm going from memory which isn't the best thing at my age! ;D

I've noticed that virtually every symphonic metal band has songs about the sea.  I'm not sure if that's due to fish being a staple of Scandanavian diets or what.

And Marillion are known to be fixated with 'Death and Water' *horns*

Megadeth - Youthanasia

This one really exceeds my more optimistic expectations. To the point that I ordered the two previous albums, Countdown To Extinction and Rust In Peace. Am I getting Addicted To Chaos ?  ;D

:o

It has the best piece of all, the title track  *horns*

NP  Queensrÿche:  Promised Land

Got it back. One of my fave Q-albums, and an alltime fave. It's a very difficult album to get into. There are some moods that you don't find anywhere else.

Rage is easier, more melodic. There Geoff's tremendous expression fills a lot.

So Iggy, what do you think of Extreme ?

I myself am quite taken. I'm planning to spend my next cd-money on some of their albums  *horns*

Nobody else but Jonesy, Iggy and me into Extreme ?

It was a bit weird listening to them. I must have lived with someone who liked them at some stage. I recognise some of their stuff but don't own any as yet.

Yeah, the Cubs have a very strong team this year.  They also have the longest-running current 'curse' of not having won a championship in over 100 years.  I guess I'd root for them to win if my guys don't make it, but unless that happens, let em stay cursed.   ;)

Haven't heard them in years, but I was never impressed with what I'd heard.  Admittedly I didn't investigate them much, so perhaps I'd like them more than I thought.

Pendragon - Pure

That one sure does get a lot of mention here.  Is it particularly recommended among the Pendragon albums?  The Pendragon I've sampled so far leaves me somewhat underwhelmed -- particularly the vocals/lyrics.  There's plenty of good playing going on, particularly Clive working his magic, but the overall effect hasn't grabbed me.

Still digesting Demians.

Well, it's rockier/heavier, which is more likely to appeal to some folk.  Personally I'm a major Pendragon freak anyway, but yes, I found Pure to be something special on top of this *horns*

It took me a while before Pendragon took hold.

I think they take a fare bit fd listening to before they click.
