I'm tempted to start a new topic about Radio, but that seems like a Big Step.  Am I worthy?

More to the point, is radio worthy? ;)

Actually, that was going to be one of the main questions posed.

NP:  The Killers - Sam's Town

A strange band -- they're from Las Vegas.

Ratt - Out of the Cellar.

Dude, Pandora played so many good Ratt songs while pretending to be working on Queensryche, I may have to buy an album.

OK, I give up, I'm going to Pandoraize Queensrÿche and see if I've been missing out.  Funny how some bands are more popular abroad than in their home countries.  My long-time impression of them was that they were more or less Night Ranger with one song that was trying to be Stairway to Heaven (which, oddly enough, although I'm a big Zep fan, was never a song I liked).   I'll give the lads a fair chance this time.  :)

My only attempt to Queensrÿche was their self-titled debut EP and I found it so dreadful that it was almost impossible to me to get to the end of each song. It was loaded with live bonuses that even made things worse  :P  Actually, it's one of the worst metal albums that I have ever heard (but I am not a specialist of the genre). I would like to sell it back but it's priced so low on any website that I would actually have to lose money to get rid of it ... Sorry, I don't want to offend anybody but that's just my two cents about this band. I guess things changed afterwards (as Fates Warning changed after No Exit ?) but I'm still reluctant to give them another try ...

Yeah, that's true.
I am a member of the ProgArchives forum, but I never post there cause of the above mentioned views.
There are a bit too much prog snobs there.

Same here and for the same reasons. I hope you won't see any paradox between this statement and what I wrote about Queesrÿche just above ...

JP : A-Ha - East Of The Sun, West Of The Moon
NP : A-Ha - Scoundrel Days

I find A-Ha to be (at least in the late 80's) an above average pop band, with brilliant musical arrangements (does this word exists in English ?), very convincing hints to rock (i.e. on Am I Losing You) and moving lyrics. Although I really dislike most of their synthpop songs ala Cry Wolf or Sun Always Shine ..., it's a band I have a certain affection for. Steve will be interested to know that Michael Sturgis, drummer of ... Wishbone Ash (!) and (special dedicace to Nicky  ;D) Asia fame, played for A-Ha before joining those bands.

I completely disconnected from A-Ha after East Of The Sun so I don't know how they have evolved during the 90's and 00's ...

Quite.  Each to their own, of course, but I'm glad I didn't give up on Genesis after their first album ;)

Curiously, a girlfriend of mine back in the 80s used to be into A-ha and I didn't find them unpleasant.  I've not heard them since, however, so I don't have much of an opinion!

Count yourself lucky.  My last serious gf was into Air Supply (really).

NP: Coldplay -Viva la Vida

If Nicky wants to abuse me for it, he'll need to wake up.  I like it.   ;D

Would this be the member of the Doors voted least likely to die of an overdose?

NP: Counting Crows - August and Everything After

See, I do like American bands, just not prog ones.   ???

Annoyingly, the CD I've got has no mention of the musicians involved on the album, though I guess the vinyl version did.  An all-star cast http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robbie_Robertson_(album) as I was immediately reminded when Peter Gabriel burst forth on track one *horns*

Oh my, that's embarrassing with me being a Band fanatic and all.  I was thinking of Robbie Krieger.   To change the subject back to something that doesn't make me look stupid, I had the pleasure of seeing The Band at a small arena in Worcester, Massachusetts (roughly 60 miles west of civilization), although it was after Richard Manuel died.  They seem to fill a unique niche in music, although I can't quite articulate what it is.  In any case, it's good they were there.   *horns*

Good point!  Although, other than Levon Helm, I think they're all Canadians, and, as you know, I am a connoisseur of Canadians.

If I was going to do something responsible like that, it would've been hours ago.  I have work to do tomorrow, but it doesn't really matter when I do it, so if I get up after noon and get some work done in the evening, that's ok.  I'm a night-owl by nature, so I'm often up very late night.  I'm just not used to talking to people who have just gotten up before I've gone to bed.   ;)

P.S. I vote for the return of your Anorak avatar.  It made me less dizzy.
