Unlike some Marillion albums which were slow-burners for me, AoS stapled itself to my head on first listen and has never come loose since

I think I read somethere that AOS is Hogarth's fave from the band.

  BTW, you may already know this, but 'punt' means something completely different over here -- it's an American football term meaning to kick the ball away to the other team and surrender possession of it.  I would be much more likely to punt a Celine album than a Marillion one.  

Well, the good point with punting a Celine album is that you are pretty sure that nobody will try to return it for a touchdown

A lot of extraordinary stuff going on 

I remember a big Rush fan telling me that one of the great things about their concerts is that you simply can't fathom how three guys can make so much noise. Well, the same can be said about Slayer, I mean there's simply music all over the place. The singer blasts off his lines at the same time as he does fast crazy riffs on his bass, one guitarist riffs while the other solos, only thing is that the riffing is wilder than most other guitarists' solos.

Simply mindblowing.

You can like or dislike Slayer for very different reasons, but one thing ya can't detract from'm is their tremendous musicianship

@ Nicky: I don't know which songs are on that album but a few songs are definitely worth checking out: Seasons In The Abyss for instance.
It has one of the best drum-work in it that i've ever heard.
