"Then I'll know my bet will win, when the saints go marching in"

The Butterfly Man

NP: Pure Reason Revolution - Amor Vincit Omnia

I may like this one better than 'The Dark Third' actually!

NP  Michael Jackson:  Thriller

OK, the lyrics aint anythin, but the music still grips me, particularly Beat It. This guy has made some great music  *horns*

Nicky.
So you've come of age
And so you want to meet God
Sure you can
He's right here next to me

Bupie

Mmmh, it didn't take long for your new workmates to have a bad influence on you  ;D

That being said, I shouldn't criticize Beat It since it's a good song and Steve Lukather plays on it (and it seems that it was not an easy recording : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beat_It)

On the same album (Thriller), though, my favorite is Human Nature, also and even more Toto-related : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_Nature_(Michael_Jackson_song)

NP Pendragon - Pure

Oops!  Was it my turn?  ;)

NP: Ozric Tentacles - The Floor's Too Far Away.
No excuses needed for this one, boys and girls.  Pay attention to your Uncle Steve and see how it's done ;D

I like it a lot as well. It is definitely very different to the first album though.

I actually played it in the car on the way home.

Now thinking about what to play

funkster

On a metal trip at the mo so its been -

Mercyful fate - Time
Opeth - watershed
Iron Magus - Wolf's return and Iron will  *horns*

Manatee

Crikey, you lads have been busy today.

Just finishing: Porcupine Tree - In Absentia.
Next up: Porcupine Tree - Deadwing.

I did that very thing last night (and most days in the past few weeks as well.  In Absentia is growing on me, although I still consider Darkwing the masterpiece.

Beat It is worth listening to for Eddie Van Halen's guitar.  As for Michael, if he becomes a citizen of your country, maybe I'll decide he's good, but as things stand, he's ours and hence embarrasses me.   ;)

NP: Kamelot - The Black Halo

I'll tell you what, we'll swap you Gary Glitter for him.  Equally embarassing, but at least MJ will build us a decent theme park or two ;)

NP: Spooks Series 5 on DVD

Sold!  Theme parks are just a cause of further traffic on I-95, and the child molestation charges worry me.   :P

Side note: It seems that iTunes is also a fan of the Rewiring Genesis album -- when I ripped my copy of the original Lamb, it chose the Rewiring cover as the artwork.    ???

I shall arrange shipment before you find out about Mr Glitter's record in that department, then! ;)

Deadwing by PT

The Butterfly Man

This evening I played:

- Dream Theater - Falling Into Infinity Demos
- Dream Theater - Old Bridge, New Jersey 12/14/96
- Dream Theater - Train Of Thought

NP: Live - Throwing Copper

NP: Kamelot - Epica

Since The Black Halo supposedly continues the theme from this one, I figured I'd best try this as well.  The title is somewhat confusing since it's also the name of a band (not sure which came first, band or album).  Add to this that the Black Halo features a guest spot from Epica's vocalist* and it all seems a bit incestuous.

*Hot female alert for fanciers of such -- with red hair yet, which makes me smitten by definition.   ::)

Indeed, I've seen several concert photos, and there can be no doubt that Simone is yummier than even the best of biscuits.

You know, Nicky, these Kamelot guys aren't half bad.  You should give them a try.   ;D

Indeed.  If I was down to my last couple of biscuits I'd still give her one.

That reminds me of an old Far Side comic:  There were two cats together, and the caption is "If I had two dead rats, I'd give you one."
