Hey, guys, have I somehow bullied you into silence ?  That was not my intention. So I'l be silent for a while now.

There are a bunch of posts of mine in this thread that nobody answered to (OK, I don't always ask questions  ) but it didn't lead me to silence. I write for history : one day people will dig out my musical thoughts and say : "yes, this guy was right".  It's a comforting feeling to think about that day

No, not yet, Tom. But I have their first two albums. They're terrific - you should get'm 

I think it's important to get more people to listen to SW. They're suffering from too little exposure. They wrote on their website that if MF doesnt sell enough, it could mean the end of SW. And man, that would really be 

These are serious, talented musicians, who don't make a big deal out of themselves. So it's up to us fans now to ensure their survival as a great band

Guess I'm pretty much alone with this here in the Room 

Admittedly this aint easy listening stuff. Requires quite some effort to get into. But slowly structures emerge and become enjoyable. Quite rousing music 

The DEP concert this Spring was one of the best concerts I'v been to 

If i didn't know better i'd say that i was listening to 3 (Three). 

Yeah, I experienced that too, Mad. I find 3 more melodic tho.

I'd say that the difference would be a world apart but that would be a prejudice i think since i've only heard snips and bits from DEP.

That's right. You can compare it with Riverside, but it's less heavy and darker. It took me a few spins, but now I dig it! His voice is so great .

These guys are ahead of the game too (a different one than ours tho) 

DEP are the standard bearers of metalcore, exploring the inner core of metal. One of the most progressive and exciting bands around 

Here are some excerpts from General Zombie's excellent review of Ire Works on Amazon.com:

"Ire Works is an extension of Miss Machine, continuing to mix DEPs signature frenetic, flailing technical metalcore with electronic elements and some singing/melody. We've got a few changes, with Gil Sharone taking over on drums, Ben Weinman now the sole guitarist and a sharper, much more expensive production, particularly when compared to the rougher than expected Miss Machine. None of these changes hurt the band, in my estimation. Weinman is more than sufficient to cover the guitars in the studio, Sharone is, if anything, more manic than his predecessor, and the production is crystal-clear without sacrificing any intensity.

The openers, Fix Your Face and Lurch ought to satisfy old-time DEP junkies. The guitars are pure metallic shards twisted through lightning fast, shifting time signatures, the drums a mad, jazz-metal cacophony and Puciato's vocals primarily either a feral shriek or roar. This is vintage DEP, and few people can do it like them."

Well, aint life all in all a game ?  When you're a kid you wanna be friends (i.e. play football) with all the guys, when you're young you wanna be friends (i.e. get into the pants of) all the gals, and when you're old you wanna be friends with God.
