Well, DeeExpus Project is a great rap-outfit. They have some really cool songs with very intriguing lyrics. Most of their songs are about life on da street in da hood, y'know. ;)

No but seriously, DeeExpus Project is a progressive melodic rock-band from England. The song I was just playing, PTtee, is sort of a tribute to Porcupine Tree. In this song they take some PT-based riffs (and sometimes even really a PT-riff!) and create their own unique song with them. I think this is a great way to pay tribute to a band, far better than to just 'cover' a song.

But instead of me rambling on and on I think it's a better idea to just go to www.myspace.com/deeexpusmusic and let the music speak for itself. :)

Garden Of Gray is a track from Nevermore's self-titled debut-album, apparently.  ;D

You should know that, you know... ;)

I was just trying to be bongo, Tom  ;D

Avoid Nevermore's self-titled debut album initially !  Leave it for later. It's a good metal album, but nothing like what came afterwards - whew !

But do get their second studio album In Memory, which unfortunately has been classified as an EP. It's actually a good starter: Some wonderful melodic and atmospheric pieces. The Sorrowed Man (track 5) is one of my fave NM-songs. Beautiful !!!

"Fly me away on the wings of a dove
To the temple of knowledge we can fly
Smiling inside, peace so clear
One with the all, one within mind

Pray that I will live forever
The sorrowed man will not be me
Today I'll change my life forever
For what I've seen must surely be"

Yes, guys, this is also Nevermore. Music for the thinking wo/man with b*s  :)

I'd add that the difference between these groups is that DT are more varied (partly due to the keyboards), NM more daring (progressive?, and Warrel a more exciting singer), but imm there's no doubt that these are the two groups that rule metalworld in these times   *horns* *horns* *horns*

Just a discreet opinion, guys  :-[  ;D

And what about Symphony X, Nick ? It's been a while since you last mentioned Paradise Lost  ;D

Nicky, seeing the above I don't think that Paco knows what TSRDOPM is.... :-\  :P

I gave it some thought and came to the conclusion that it must be:

The Shattered Room Department Of Power (or Progressive) Metal

;)

NP: A Perfect Circle - The Noose

Stevie, I think that you're thinking of what all men think of, and what makes'm lose their concentration for a sec or two occasionally, and what makes you live up to your name (right, Deenie?)  ;D

Bups, SyX are great and are in my second league of progmetal. I just consider DT and Nevermore even greater (top league)  :)

Right, Tom, just leave "power" out of it. I'm no fan of bands like Dragonforce.

So TSRDOPM is The Shattered Room Department Of Prog Metal. (I'm sure that Paxi guessed that too. He just has to be naughty.)  ;D

I've always thought this was a Best-On-Planet album, but even so I'm still sometimes gob-smacked by just how good it is.  I've just sat and listened to the whole thing without interruption or distraction, feeling like it was the first time I'd ever heard it. *horns*

Not sure why, but I'm particularly fond of the 'is absolute zero cold enough?' line 8)
