You mean as if Marco was the only one to sing ?  ;D

Yes.  After gargling with gravel.  ;)

NP: Fish - 'Poppy' Field of Crows.  My current opiate of choice.

24 carat purple

Cripes!  I remember buying that when I was at school, it was the recommended route to obtain Black Night.  *horns*  Still had the same vinyl copy up until a few years ago.

I bought the CD earlier this year.

It is a classic and reminds me of the days when you would play one side more than another. CD's have changed my listening patterns completely!

All 3.1 hours of it.  What better way to start the weekend?  *horns*

NP  Mercenary:  The Hours That Remain  *horns* *horns* *horns*

Much better than Architect Of Lies imo (sorry, Stevie, lost my head for a moment there). They seem to have lost some b*ls (in the commercial mill) and got dangerously near Nightwish with Architect. Hours is more like Circus Maximus - even heavier.

Already the first song Redefine Me is a killer !

Man, if you're Mercenary, you gotta keep your b*ls in all situations  ::)

So, guys, Hours is the one to get, and it's real good tellya. (Will also improve my survival rating if you getit, Stevie.)  ;D

T. Reid "Very Critical" (NJ) puts it right (Amazon.com):

"Let me start off by telling you that this album [Architect] is in no way better than The Hours That Remain which I feel was their best album by far. But it is a good album to say the least. If you like Mercenary then get this album. I feel they failed to capture the "Lost Reality" feel in this album. Hooks sound generic. Anyway that's my view. Still buy the album though. Maybe next time we can get another The Hours That Remain."

Mercenary - Architect of Lies.  Again!  ;D

A bit of a grow(l)er, this one.

;D Stevie

NP  Nothing, but I am beginning to feel the lack, so I am singing loud in my office.

You probably have no problem hitting Tarja's high notes, Bups  ;D

Blimey!  The growls must go up to eleven!  Metal for people who find Slipknot worryingly effeminate.  ;D

I think you're trying to atone for your recent descent into Dionism.  ;) ;D ;D ;)

Just finished: Dream Theater - Live Scenes from New York.  Awesome as ever, especially 'A Change of Seasons' which is an absolute blinder to finish on.  *horns*

Just starting: Kamelot - The Black Halo.

Actually not more growls, but more purpose and drive, more Viggo Mortensen than Little Mermaid  *horns*

Riverside - Out of Myself.

Because REM is such a stonkingly excellent album, I have to periodically remind myself of just how good the rest are, too.  Currently playing very loud *horns* as SWMBO has gone out to empty the nation's shoe-shops.  :'(

Magnum - Princess Alice & the Broken Arrow.

I used to pass Princess Alice (an orphanage to the north of Birmingham) on the way to work for many years.  Completely useless information to anyone out there in progland, but it's something I think of every time I give this album a spin.  Most of the orphanage was destroyed in a fire and is now a Tesco supermegastore.  Make a note of this, it may come in useful one day...  ;)

Just finished: Various Artists - The Fox Lies Down: A Tribute to Genesis.  There're some tremendous interpretations on here, including The Flower Kings' take on 'The Cinema Show' - more recently featured (in longer form) on 'The Road Back Home'  *horns*

Now playing: The Reasoning - Awakening.  As discussed elsewhere, this raaaawwwwwkkkks! *horns* *horns* *horns*

You silly man. Try with one 'n', as spelt by yours truly. ;)

Ups! - and I'm the one who's so p-p-p-particular bout spelling  ::)

Only problem is that if you write "Millenium" in Wikipedia you get redirected to "Millennium" - so back to scratch.

So, Deenie, what's with Millenium ?

NP  Mercenary:  The Hours That Remain

Yup *horns*

Played:  Jethro Tull:  Aqualung

A true classic masterpiece  *horns*

Foxtrot Genesis  nuff said!  ;D

Steve Hackett - Please Don't Touch.  Scabby old unremastered version that I've had for eons, I'm afraid.  The remastered offering with extra tracks at a mere 4.98 Amazon pounds is thus tempting.  :-\

I've only gone and ordered defector now.

I never owned this but it was in a friends collection 4.98 what a bargain.

I've been toying with that one, too.  Currently still on vinyl here, as is 'Cured'.  I always thought 'Cured' was Hackett's lowest ebb, but 'Defector' is a good'un so I'd like to hear it again.

Don't know why I dither about these things, at 4.98 just bl**dy order them Jonesy!!!  ;)
