Today I listened to a bit of "Misplaced Childhood", "The Road Of Bones", "Jabberwocky" and "The Masquerade Overture".
A mixed bag, but all Neo-Prog.

Bupie

NP League Of Lights - League Of Lights

Teunis

jp: Cross - Da Capo (on Progstreaming, another 'once in a lifetime' experience I'm afraid. Music is not bad, once again the vocals are a struggle for me :-\)

Toto - Wings of time (Kingdom of Desire)

For boomy Roomies:

Saturnian:  Shadow Of Prophecy  www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQtjJjhzj0k

Warning: growl, and a lot else :o

Else played:

Manic Street Preachers:  Postcards From A Young Man

This one got'm into my prog pantheon *horns*

But there's a history: Some 5-6 years ago - you may recall - I was listening a lot to'm. The Everlasting balled me over:

Ah, isn't that the solo album by Threshold's keyboard player, Richard West, and his wife?
What do you make of it?

It is not as proggy as you would normally listen to, I guess. But it's pretty catchy stuff and occasionally it rocks!
You should also listen to Ray's latest solo album "Chasing Rainbows", a very nice pop album.

A very fine album. But the mastermind behind it is Neal, not Neil.

That's kinda cool. :) Nice 'guitars'. (Not all ukeleles right?)
I'm not too well known with the songs that they play, but the arrangements are nice.

NP:
Mike Oldfield - "Tubular Bells II"

I like it very much. This is part of "The Studio Albums: 1992-2003" eight disc set he released recently.

The Butterfly Man

Instead of mentioning albums you're listening to, lets try and break that down a bit. :)

I'm listening to music from my phone right now in my lunchbreak. It's on shuffle:

Di-Rect - Daydreams in a Blackout
Neal Morse - Whatever Days
John Wesley - New Life Old Sweat
Arena - On the Edge of Despair
Evergrey - Black Undertow
Threshold - Autumn Red
The Pineapple Thief - Alone at Sea
Avenged Sevenfold - Heretic
Fish - The Company

Okay that's it, have to go to work again. The company calls...... ;D

There will be white clouds beyond the hills...

jp: Fractal Mirror - Garden Of Ghosts (on Progstreaming. Quite predictable: music okay, vocals are boring ::))

Not high priority for me, Paxi. I don't buy pop albums any longer. There's so much great prog rock and metal *horns*

Yes, little professor. My "problem" is that I'm listening a lot to both Neal Morse and Neil Young. - Why the fuck do those guys spell their names differently >:(

This is the song that got me into Neil Young:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=NzKbfr8InYo

Reminds me of South Dakota, where my Dad grew up, and I spent two fantastic summer sojourns :)

Nice 'guitars'. (Not all ukeleles right?)

They're all ukuleles. Different sizes and intervals, just like with guitars and flutes.

You must know Kate Bush's Wuthering Heights, Paxi ? A great classic, ingenious music piece *horns*

Unfortunately Katie was never to rise to such wuthering heights again :(

We've seen several other artists and groups like that ???

NP  Bal-Sagoth:  The Power Cosmic

What I've ended up doing is listening to them in rotation, from Starfire to Chthonic, and then Starfire again. I've probably played each of'm some 50 times by now, but it doesn't matter, cuz they just get better and better. One also begins to see lyrical connections across songs and albums - very gratifying 8)

What's important to understand about Sagoth is that this is music (and lyrics) at a new level, so of course it requires corresponding work on the part of the listener :)

Same. Unfortunately. I was looking forward to this release (but with a bit of scepticism) and was underwhelmed.
It's very ambient. Very very VERY. Ambieeeeeent.
I wanted to buy this, but I'm glad I didn't.
It might be of emotional value for Nick and David, but musically it does nothing for me.

I have set up my old stereoset, with record player and only play the black vinyl discs for this evening.

Currently:

Alan Parsons Project ~ The Turn of a Friendly Card
Cause of Injury: Lack of Adhesive Ducks.

We have take into account it's a tribute to Richard Wright and consider it not a real Pink Floyd album, but even then .. . Would have expected more.

Yes it is. And it fits the description that you are giving below for another album  ;)

QuoteIt is not as proggy as you would normally listen to, I guess. But it's pretty catchy stuff and occasionally it rocks!

Honestly I am liking it a lot but since I have been rather addicted to Threshold these last weeks, my opinion could be slightly partial :) To get the picture, go and listen to the single Forever that came after the album. This song is a bit heavier and features a duet with Threshold past vocalist Glynn Morgan who has a very nice voice.

NP League Of Lights - League Of Lights

NP Knight Area - Hyperdrive

Just read the DPRP table review for this one and everybody seems to dislike This Day when it is probably my favorite song of the album. I am used to be in this situation but still don't get what should appear obviously wrong with this song ...  :P

Me neither. Like the whole album with the last two tracks as favourites. When I would have to pick the weakest track it would be 'Bubble'.
