"Five Miles Out" I don't know much about. But since you like it so much, I just have to listen to it!

8) Paxi

It has the wonderful instrumental Mount Teidi, one of my fave pieces. But the whole album is  *horns*

haven't heard the first four albums and "The Odyssey". Anyone feels the need to recommend me one?

The Odyssey is super too. You can skip their first self-titled album, one good reason being that it has Rod Tyler on vocals, so it's not a "real" SyX album, a bit like Dream Theater's first. But from their second album The Damnation Game on it's pure bliss  *horns*

It's an excellent album. Produced by.... drumrollll.... Trevor Horn. The album was looked down on by Yes fans and the prog scene, because of its commercial touch and success. But it's brilliant if you ask me. Sound and music at the top of what can be done.

This may seem like mutiny, but I'll run the risk  ;)

90125 is Yes lite, iow not "real" Yes - even considering that Yes is multifarious, but 90125 is tooo far from the real Yes sound - sorry, Cap & softies. Nothin against the Trevors; Rabin worked hard, and his fourth album with Yes, Talk, is a masterpiece  *horns*

As Peter said a very good CD. I don't like Owner of a Lonely Heart now though. Although at the time it was a stroke of Genius as it got Yes on mainstream radio.

I like TR's stuff as well have you heard 90124 his take on 90125!

I guess I will always have a soft spot for this CD as before this I thought Yes had 'died' so anything was better than nothing.

I will agree that it i not my favourite but it was a crucial CD. The money gained probably kept the band going.

And then there were three is underrated imo. A thoroughly enjoyable concet/tour I think it was when they picked up Daryl Streumer and Chester Thomson who were both a great addition for Peter G and Steve H on tour.

JP  Extreme (ex-Dream):  Waiting For The Punchline  &  Pornograffitti

Extreme are one of my pantheon groups, and these are two great albums  *horns*

NP  Van Halen III

Surprisingly prog and exciting  *horns*

That's cuz Gary Cherone (singer in Extreme) got into the mix. Eddie said that he had found a soulmate in Gary  8)

Unfortunately it didnt lead to more than this one album (from 1998)  :(

If you guys consider yourselves proggies, then try these  :P

Mike the II wasn't the drummer on the album Pornograffitti.
He was the drummer on Waiting for the Punchline. Not a bad album btw. ;)
Paul Geary was the drummer on Pornograffitti. :)

And in fact only on three songs, Paul Geary did the rest. One doesnt hear much difference, as PG also is an eminent drummer The rhythm section of Extreme is extremely good  *horns*

JF Dream Theater - Dream Theater Frankly, after about a dozen of complete listens, I find it great  *horns*

NP Haken - The Mountain First listen. A very different beast. I would not call it progmetal, more something like crossover prog even if it has some heavy parts. Very diverse and interesting so far.
