The Christmas special passed me by as i was constructing toys  ;) but the clips of the new series look interesting.

I think the special was pretty good! A very clever retelling of the second best and famous christmas tale ever.

The new series started last night and WOW

The impossible astronaut was the best episode since the series returned a few years ago. Myself and James , the 7 year old , loved it !!

Yeah it's good. I'm not that enthusiastic as you are though. I thought it started off a bit slow. But I like it very much and I REALLY want to know what will happen next!

3rd episode of the new series tonight and the first 2 have been superb  8)

Well, anyone seen the episodes up until now?
I've seen them and I liked them all.
I still feel the best episodes Steven Moffat has written are the ones he wrote before he became the main writer of the series.
But this new series with Matt Smith aren't bad in any case. They are much better than I expected them to be. I can see David Tennant in him. Does anyone know what I mean?

I have seen them all and it is my favourite season since the show returned. Roll on saturday night  :)

I'm not sure. I really like Doctor Who, but the fifth and sixth series (up until now) are not my favourite.
But it's not because of Matt Smith, I think he's an excellent Doctor. Very excentric character, which makes him more of a real old-fashioned Doctor, where Christopher Ecclestone and David Tennant were almost action/adventure heroes.

I'm not sure why I feel this way, because I absolutely love the stories Steven Moffat has written for the previous series. Perhaps my expectations were too high. Or perhaps Steven is overdoing the space/time concept a little bit.

Anyway my all time favourite episodes up til now (since the revival) are these:

Series 1:
Rose
The End Of The World
Father's Day
The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances
Bad Wolf/The Parting Of The Ways

Series 2:
New Earth
The Girl In The Fireplace
Rise Of The Cybermen/The Age Of Steel
Army Of Ghosts/Doomsday

Series 3:
Smith And Jones
42
Human Nature/The Family Of Blood
Blink
Utopia/The Sound Of Drums/Last Of The Time Lords

Series 4:
The Doctor's Daughter
Silence In The Library/Forest Of The Dead
Midnight
The Stolen Earth/Journey's End

Specials:
The Waters Of Mars
The End Of Time, Part One/The End Of Time, Part Two

Series 5:
The Eleventh Hour
The Time Of Angels/Flesh And Stone
The Hungry Earth/Cold Blood
Vincent And The Doctor

Series 6:

A bit too early to tell I think.
The Impossible Astronaut/Day Of The Moon could have made one really good episode. Instead they made it a two-parter, I thought it was a bit too slow. And a bit too American perhaps. :P ;)
I really liked The Curse Of The Black Spot, so that's already one.
The Doctor's Wife was weird, but still nice. The Rebel Flesh was another good one. I wonder where this will lead us to. Along with The Almost People it might become another great two-parter.

So, that's a little review. Hope you liked it. :P

Only ten more nights!

Almost at the end of the 6th series I have to say that Doctor Who isn't the same as it used to be.
Moffat's episodes in the first four series were the best. They were clever, and I really liked it that 'time' played a great part in these stories. But now he's overdoing it. And series 5 and 6 have been filled with paradoxes and hard-to-follow stories. Still some great ideas were hidden in these episodes.

Now some spoilers:

I love how River Song is actually Amy Pond's daughter. Just a pity it had to be in the two-parter "A Good Man Goes To War/Let's Kill Hitler" which I think was very tiresome at times. "Night Terrors" was a bit better, but I thought "The Girl Who Waited" was very exciting once again.
"The God Complex" was kind of strange. Overall I didn't like it. Most of the time it had to do with the 'praise him' and all the other religious things that made me feel a bit uncomfortable.
The best thing about this episode was that Amy Pond and Rory Williams were left behind at their home. Not that I didn't like Amy and Rory, because I liked them! They were very nice companions! But it just felt so right to leave them there. No big exit, or deaths or whatever, just a simple goodbye.

It ain't over yet Paxi  ;)

I have really enjoyed this series and it the darkest it has been since it came back.

Cybermen on saturday and no idea what is planned for the series finale

funkster

New series in the autumn and next year is the 50th anniversary !! Should be the best yet  :D

funkster

2 Episodes into the second part of this run and i have enjoyed both

The new companion is very pretty as well  ;)

PH

I haven't seen a Doctor Who episode for a long time now.
So this is the seventh season? I'll have to get back to it ASAP.
So what happened to Amy and Rory?
I liked Rory a lot (in a not-gay way).

12th Doctor unveiled and i for one am very happy

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-23570354

So Matt Smith quit? Wow... that's quick! Totally missed the seventh season. Guess I have to set that right.

The name of this new fellow didn't ring a bell, but when I saw his picture I recognised him immediately! That guy played a big role in Torchwood's third season. I loved his character.

As much as I love (especially) Tennant's incarnation, a slightly older Doctor might be a good decision.

I have been watching the series a lot lately, thanks to syfy channel and although I'm a bit sad to see the other one go (forgot his name, too lazy (again) to go search for it) I'm curious about the new fellow.

My sister's fond of it now. I gave it a try and watched a couple of episodes or more with her. I still don't get excited about it at all though. At least I've tried!  ;)
Let your conscience decide !

50th anniversary episode The day of the Doctor last night was just brilliant  :)

funkster

New series starts 4 weeks on saturday  ;D

funkster

Two episodes in and progressing nicely  :)

A darker , older and more cantankerous Dr then we have seen for a long long time and it works for me

funkster

New series starts Saturday here in the UK

PH

Still have a lot of catching up to do. But I'll get there eventually. I'm in last season with Matt Smith. Actually I'm looking forward to Twelve because while I like Eleven, I'm growing a bit tired of him and his mannerisms.

13th Doctor announced - Jodie Whittaker

Great choice as far as I am concerned  :)
