No comment... or maybe just this one: did YOU ever check your IQ, Nicky?

He did, and it is quite high.  Written on a label inside his hat, in fact ;)

Just enjoying an Ørbæk BarleyWine (12%) after an active day (also in the Room).

10/10 and it's Danish  *horns*

Any of you guys know it ?

Keep an eye out for it  ;)

Nicky.

Earl Grey tea.

You lot have some scary food, but your beverages are first-rate.   ;)

Indeed, although I wouldn't have included 'lightly perfumed warm water' (AKA 'Earl Grey') in that ;D

Well, what can you expect from us savages in the colonies?  If it's any consolation, I'd rather be drinking a pint of Boddington's.

Fair point, I suppose.  I take it you chucked all the good stuff in the harbour at Boston? ;)

These days I'm rarely happier than when supping a mug of Twining's English Breakfast Tea.  That's the price you pay for being old enough to remember prog ;D

Obviously.  They had to make room for all that Guinness they drink up there.

When I rarely feel like tea, I usually make the classic Lipton's Yellow Label (only perfume Ms 007's Poison in the air)  *horns* *horns*

Now I'm enjoying the other half of my Ørbæk BarleyWine  8)

I'l keep that in mind. They might even have some in Cop.

Funny, Manatee, altho you live in NY, you seem to me more English than American, both in language and in habits. And you don't even live in New England.

How can that be ?

Well, it's like this...
I was born in NYC, but I consider myself to be from Connecticut (which is in New England, although also right by NY) since that's where we lived from when I started high school on, and my mom still lives there.  Then again, New England doesn't really have much to do with Olde England anymore anyway.  ;)  I do seem to have a rather English sense of humor.  Since nobody in America figured out how to brew decent beer until fairly recently, I had no choice but to become fond of European brands.  I drink tea because coffee tastes like coffee.  :P   Most of my favorite prog bands are English too.  Could be coincidence, could be they just have better bands, or could be the fact that I'm a musical snob and get sick of anything that gets much radio play here.  ;D  As to the language, I think I may just phrase things that way here because "the Queen's English" seems to be the norm in the Room.  Or maybe it's because I broke with our national tradition by actually learning how to read. :o  You will note, however, that I do my part in these hard economic times by not wasting resources on extraneous u's in words like 'color' and 'flavor'.

coffee tastes like coffee.  :P

Small world - I've noticed that, too! ;)

Most of my favorite prog bands are English too.

Most of mine seem to come from countries such as Sweden, Poland, Germany, etc.  Obviously good prog involves looking to the east from wherever you live ;D

Yeah, I took up that too.

Otoh I prefer the British 's' in verbs and verbals like "realise" and "realisation". 'z' seems clumsy there.

So I make my own (pancake) mix  :D

So the Russians gotta have to love ping-pong music  :o

My top groups are US-American and Swedish. But that's also cause it's now proven beyond doubt that I'm the heaviest roomie. So I'm looking east both ways (with my eyes wide shut)  ;)

I keep meaning to try that, but I always conclude "why not get Guinness?"
