Just to show you how good the Stones were back in the late 60's (I have a strong feeling that some of our young Roomies are unaware), here you are, guys - some of my overall fave songs (and of course, on my classic list):

Ruby Tuesday    www.youtube.com/watch?v=6DVCgKsqn30

She's A Rainbow    www.youtube.com/watch?v=PcYNUX0g4e8&feature=related

Sympathy For The Devil    www.youtube.com/watch?v=ftZ3UCdTuWQ

Paint It Black    www.youtube.com/watch?v=9rJeYZkjmAk&feature=related

The YouTube of Paint It Black is a later live recording, but the song is from 1966 - a very sad song. The early YouTubes were poor quality, so therefore I chose to do it thisaway.

Enjoy, guys - and tell me what ya think  ;)

Nicky.

So you've come of age

Sure you can

Knight Area - Rising Signs from the Shadows

And about the Stones: sorry Nicky, never been fond of their music. Only 'Angie' is bearable for me ;).

I know all these songs well, and they're all winners.  She's a Rainbow is a particular favorite of mine.  Note that "Beggar's Banquet" is actually the album title rather than the song, which is the great "Sympathy for the Devil."

NP: Anathema - A Fine Day to Exit

2nd play, liking it a lot already.  My one complaint is that the last song is 18:27 long and consists mostly of empty space (although there's a few minutes of music in the beginning and a bit at the end).  A lot of CDs do this on their last tracks.  I'm not sure why, maybe it's an anti-piracy thing.  In any case, it's annoying.

In these cases I edit the silence out when I rip them to my hard disk.

8)  Greenie.

I was crazy about Their Satanic Majesties Request at the time. It's one of my overall most played albums  *horns*

Yes, of course, was a bit too fast there. Better correct that before anyone else notices  :-[

Thanx, Greenie  :)

Pleasantly surprised by the latter album. Not the commercial sh*t like on the previous albums Phoenix and Omega, but plenty of room for both guitar and keyboard solos. And heavier too, me likey  *horns* ;).

JF Toto - Farenheit Getting started for Friday's gig and extremely thrilled even it will be my 15th Toto's gig (or so).

NP Threshold - Subsurface Thrilling too  *horns*

Teunis, I think you are about to convince me with the new Asia. I read that it is comparable to their debut, which I liked.

Yep, it's definitely heavier than the last two albums. Great melodies, John Wetton's voice is souding excellent and both Geoff Downes and Steve Howe are on fire. I bet you'll like this one ;).

Today:
Asia - XXX
Gazpacho - Tick Tock (still one of my favourite Gazpacho albums)
Satellite - Into The Night (one of their weakest albums imho)
Innerspace - The Village (on progstreaming.com, bit of a Pink Floyd clone so now and then. Some really nice tracks.)
Overhead - Of Sun And Moon (love it, happy music ;), can still be heard on progstreaming.com)

Never really got into SB (probably heard only tracks of the albums after Neal's departure), but really dig the Neal Morse solo stuff. I found this one on YouTube and thought I should give it a try and really liked a lot from the album. Today I played the 2nd disc and you can really hear Neal's signature overall. I'll give it some more spins *horns*.

Thanx, Mad  :)

Just got a message from Amazon tellin me that Steve Vai has a new album out, The Story of Light.

"The Story of Light follows the journey of a man driven mad by grief, intertwining tragedy, revelation, enlightenment, and redemption. 'I'm always pursuing knowledge. I'm a seeker of spiritual equilibrium and music is a big part of that,' says Vai."

Pretty interesting .....

I'm really looking forward to listening to Weather Systems.
Have listened to Untouchable on simfy/youtube and both parts are amazing. Part 2 especially with my soft spot for piano ballads.
Havn't found much time for new music lately. I'd be interested in Springsteen – Wrecking ball, also UFO - Seven Deadly, Amy McDonald – Life in a beautiful light and 40 years later !! Thick as a brick 2.

@ Bupie. Have fun with Toto!! I`ve never seen them live. But Bobby Kimball. That was 1994 when he was promoting his solo album. I remember he played a lot of Toto songs too. And you won't guess who he was supporting... Kansas!!  *horns*
