11. Tears In The Rain  *horns*

Ahhh, great memories. I remember hearing the guitarsolo from Tears In The Rain in a sample on the internet somewhere in (I think it was) 2000 when I was only 15 years old. Then I decided I wanted to buy this album and after doing so my passion for prog was born! :)

BTW Teunis: You've been mentioning The Reasoning's Dark Angel a lot in this thread recently. Care to tell me what it's like?

Don't know if you know the first album 'Awakenings'. The new album is definitely heavier. I had to get used to it. That's probably why you saw the album often here  ;D. Now I like it a lot. Especially the first track reminded me of 'Stream of Passion'. A lot of strong, catchy melodies can be heard. But be the judge yourself: listen to MySpace track 'Dark Angel medley' on:

np: Jadis - Understand
'I will surrender my heart to the sky
Oh, our love doesn't end here, it lives forever on the wings of time'
-------------------------------------------------------
Toto - Wings of time (Kingdom of Desire)

Karmakanic - Send A Message From The Heart

Cause of Injury: Lack of Adhesive Ducks.

NP  Eleven:  Kill Me No More  (on Howling Book, on repeat)   *horns*

Formidable song and fabulous singing by Natasha Shneider.

Btw Deenie, Eleven do some unique rhythm stuff  ;)

Nicky.

So you've come of age
And so you want to meet God
Sure you can
He's right here next to me

Beardfish - Sleeping In Traffic (the song)
Cause of Injury: Lack of Adhesive Ducks.

Lunatic Soul - Lunatic Soul
'I will surrender my heart to the sky
Oh, our love doesn't end here, it lives forever on the wings of time'

Toto - Wings of time (Kingdom of Desire)

Bupie

NW Enchant - Live At Last

Very good music but rather poor footage  :P, far from the quality of Smoke And Mirrors, for instance.

The Pineapple Thief - Too Much To Loose
Cause of Injury: Lack of Adhesive Ducks.

Shadow Gallery - Clifhanger II
Cause of Injury: Lack of Adhesive Ducks.

NP  Dave Gilmour:  On The Turning Away

I'm always dumbstruck when I hear this guy, both his singing and guitar playing.

If there's anything I'll keep from this earth ....

So you've come of age
And so you want to meet God
Sure you can
He's right here next to me

NP  Eddie Vedder:  Guaranteed

Also gripping  *horns*

I always felt that Eddie was too good for Pearl Jam. Here's the proof, guys. Just an acoustic guitar and his singing:

What a voice, man !!!

Hmm, Nevermore, Pearl Jam ...

Are you sure you live in Denmark, Nicky ?  I would rather locate you around Seattle ...  ;D

NP Streets - 1st

Generic and rather mediocre 80's AOR album that I pursued because of Steve Walsh's presence. Hard to recommend it to other Roomies  :P

maddox

Spock's Beard - The Good Don't Last
Cause of Injury: Lack of Adhesive Ducks.

Draco chimera

Marilion, Afraid Of Sunlight. Awesome song. ::)

I regard Seattle as the rock capitol of the world, Bups.

Nevermore, Alice In Chains, Queensrÿche, Eddie Vedder, Jerry Cantrell (from AIC), Mark Lanegan - pure genius  *horns*

Interestingly, Seattle is the best educated city in the States. Over half of all youths there get university educations - probably thanks to Bill Gates  8)

I'l probably never get to Seattle again, cause I nevermore fly, but I remember a wonderful summer holiday there when I was eight y/o (remember, my Dad's US-American)  :)

How about you and the States, Bups ?

Really??
I think Boston (with the Berkeley school) as a Rock City in US.

NP> Caamora - Scene 4 (Vigil)

Yeah, Hanin, Berklee's great too. Lots of fabulous musicians, like Masters Petrucci and Portnoy, have been upgraded there.

And Caamora's great as well  *horns*

But nonetheless, in my experience, citywise, the best prog comes from Seattle. There's somethin special about that place. Guess grunge and Microsoft didnt live in vain  ;D

NP  Opeth:  Watershed

Man, that album really transports me away, makes my day these days  :)

Took quite some time - it's a difficult album, guys - but now it smooches in like a good Belgian beer (seems like the right Room metaphor)  :D

That guitar dialogue at the end of Burden, with that smoooooth organ background - whooeyadooeyabluey ... no, not "bluey" ... not here iac  ;D

David Gilmour - Live In Gdansk

Track: The Blue

It's a pretty decent album if you ask me but compare it with Roger Water's In The Flesh and this one doesn't do all to well.
Nice album though.
Cause of Injury: Lack of Adhesive Ducks.

Np : Too Close To The Sun - Pallas.

In the opener this song is close to IQ. But in the middle up to the end, it sounds like Pendragon with little Emerson-ish keys style.

Pendragon - The Walls Of Babylon

Me likey. Very, very much...
