Yes and no, he is my best friend, but he also is the guy who brought the rings to my wedding and stuff :)

Today I really enjoyed it. In fact I enjoyed it so much I may play it again tomorrow.

Gary Hughes somehow masters melody and expression like no other. And his stories draw one in  8)  But of course Frenchies don't get it :P

If you happen to see Micky, you could recommend him to go back a bit further with Grace Under Pressure and Signals, I think he might really like those two albums as well. Vapor Trails may indeed by a bit rough on his big ears, but is a heck of a powerful album to mine. ;D As for live albums, the triple set Different Stages is highly recommended, that's what my Rush crush really started with.
;D OK Erik, I will send Micky your recommendations  ;)

NP  Anthrax:  We've Come For You All

This is by far the best I'v heard by Anthrax  *horns*

It's also the most recent of their studio albums, from 2003. They'v been tryin like hell to make a new one, but they sure as hell have had problems with their singers. Seems like they'r a pretty difficult gang  ::)

Otoh they'v had some pretty brilliant singers, like John Bush, who sings on We've Come, and seems to be the most likely guy for the prospected album 8)

I actually don't have the album  :-[

When one is as impecunious as I, one learns various tricks: What I'm doin now is that I got the Amazon page with We've Come in one window, and YouTube in the other. Fortunately they got all songs on We've Come on YouTube, so I can see the list of songs at Amazon, and play'm on YouTube. While I'm listenin, I can read the reviews, and anythin else. Ingenious, ainit ?  :)

So guys, who's the Einstein of the Room ?  ;)

When I see Syd Barrett's countenance on Wikipedia, I think, What if he hadnt fallen prey to drugs ? .....

Well, sure can't complain about Gilmour  ;)

From Wiki, Syd Barrett:

"Starting in 1964, the band that would become Pink Floyd underwent various line-up and name changes such as The Abdabs, The Screaming Abdabs, Sigma 6, and The Meggadeaths. In 1965, Barrett joined them as The Tea Set, and when they found themselves playing a concert with a band of the same name, Barrett came up with the name The Pink Floyd Sound (later The Pink Floyd). He devised the name Pink Floyd by juxtaposing the first names of Pink Anderson and Floyd Council whom he had read about in a sleeve note by Paul Oliver for a 1962 Blind Boy Fuller LP (Philips BBL-7512): 'Curley Weaver and Fred McMullen, (...) Pink Anderson or Floyd Council—these were a few amongst the many blues singers that were to be heard in the rolling hills of the Piedmont, or meandering with the streams through the wooded valleys.'"

Played:

Kamelot:  Eternity

Their first. The title song (track 1) is catchy, but then it gets bogged down in blandness for tooooo long  :-\

Kamelot:  Dominion

Their second. This one is a lot better, very enjoyable, a must for any Kamelot fan, very different from Ghost Reveries - man, have they developed over the years  *horns*

Fine melodic midheavy progmetal, actually not so far from Arena. English band with Rich Hinks as mainman. Has Andi Kravljaca as singer on their latest album The Face Of The Unknown, newly released, great album ! You get samples on MySpace.

Andi's (and he's  ;D ) one of my fave singers. He's now the singer of Silent Call. Did a great job on SW's first album Become. For some very strange reason he was ousted from SW  ???

Well, Tommy is great too  *horns*

:) Funky Boy

See, you can !

Spelling and punctuating correctly manifests a basis of seriousness  ;)

Of course, one has to show consideration toward people who don't have English as first language, and dyslectics and other dyses.

If I run into sites where it's crowded with misspellings and carelessness of all sorts, then I usually leave.

E.g. I was on Silent Call's, the group where Andi Kravljaca is now singer, MySpace, where one finds "Ok Guys and girls offcourse :-)"  ::)

The i* here managed to make three mistakes within this short statement, hardly intentional. I mean, how much effort does it take to just run thru something like this once more. And if yer dyslectic, get someone else to take a quick look.

This annoys me and makes me skeptical. And quite expectedly, the music aint really up to it. Sad, cuz Andi has it. Hope he gets some more proper chances, like with Aeon Zen :)

And right, Funky:

Got several nice songs from their newly released self-titled album  *horns*

Here's a group that's neither prog nor pantheon (in my understanding) nor has any special message but simply knows how to make songs that rock like crazy  8)

But once again, guys, don't put Ten into this category. They got more to offer: Sure, they make songs that rock, but further they have some riveting philosophy in their concepts and lyrics, and altho they'r strictly speaking not a prog group, as they prioritise composition, melody and emotion, they do have quite a lotta unusual things mixed in, which the attentive listener will discover with repeated listening  ;)
