You should rather tell us what you're playing now, Iggy  ;D

NP  Queensrÿche:  Promised Land  (eighth run)

Geoff let a lotta himself hang out on this one.

Probably my fave Q-album at this point. Excruciating  *horns*

I wouldnt expect any of these songs to be played on the radio (except for prog channels)  :(

NP  Queensrÿche:  Hear In The Now Frontier  (on repeat)

This album has been castigated by Q-fans, coming right after the masterly Promised Land (PL 1994, HITNF 1997). But, as Mad claims that we all have a right to determine for ourselves, I'm gonna work this out for meself .....  ;D

The Butterfly Man

NP: Dream Theater - Falling Into Infinity Demos

If only they used these original song arrangements on the actual album. It's a shame the DT-guys were put under pressure by the recordlabel to make some 'radio-friendly' songs... ::) Not that I dislike Falling Into Infinity as it is, but it could have been so much better with the inclusion of Raise The Knife, You Or Me, and the original versions of Take Away My Pain and Burning My Soul (with Hell's Kitchen as part of it).

Queensrÿche - Rage for Order.

Good call, Jonesy  8)

Seems like there's somethin about Rage, OM I & II, Empire, and PL being the "essential" Q-albums.

After two runs, I'm a bit disappointed with Hear  :-\

But let's see; wouldnt be the first time that Q have surprised me .....

I definitely agree with that, Tom.
FII the way the record company liked it has good tracks on it but it could've been so much better.
I must say that i like the Take Away My Pain version on FII (how it has been released) better than the original version though.
You Or Me woul've been so much better than the Desmond-Child-mutilation and Burning My Soul?

It's a shame it ever came to this.
This version is way way way better than how they recorded it.

And most of all: they never had to kill Raise The Knife.
What an awesome song that is.  8)

Genesis - Duke

Well, they're not what I'd consider prog for starters.  I like them in an "angry women who rock" sort of way (all female except the guitarist).  They're led, of course, by the certifiably insane Courtney Love, widow of Kurt Cobain.  They're a nice cathartic listen when the mood strikes me.  Certainly not essential from a prog standpoint though.
