the200thmember?

Just like to say well done to Clive, John and co for their awards at last night's ceremony, and also for producing the 'best album'. Was anybody else there? We had a great evening

When and where was this?  Sounds cool.  Happy for them.  I can't tell from the date on this thread if this is recent or not.

the200thmember?

It was last night - IQ played, Fish presented the awards, Clive won best keyboard player, Peppers Ghost best album, John best guitarist, John Jowitt best bass, and Kino best gig, so all in all a success...

I knew Kino was a gifted band.
When I put the (limited) Kino DVD in my DVDplayer I felt backwards and almost killed myself and my family. ???
This band is so GREAT live. I almost didn't hear the difference between live and studio.
I'm sorry to say that there's a difference between live and studio versions of Arena's gigs.
But Arena's gigs have something special. ;D

So, your sister is called "Prognomesis"? :P ;D

I was there too, was a great night, and great to see Clive and John there in person, and congratulations on the awards.

The CRS do a great job of promoting Prog and rock in general. Membership gets you a good quality magazine every 2 months full of interviews, reviews and news, discounts off tickets, any kids you have under 16 get into the gigs for free also.

Already next year Stream of Passion (Arjen Lucassen's newband), Pendragon, John Wetton & Geoff Downes and Pallas are signed up.

This year you missed - Arena, Kino, Oliver Wakeman Band, Magenta, Strangefish, Carl Palmer and Mostly Autumn to name a few.

Definately worth a look if you haven't heard of the CRS until now.

Are you one of their promoters? Definitely sounds like that.... :P

Their site is somewhat slow or even offline mostly, though. Not Quality Pro Hosting like mine, ya know... ;D
Arriving somewhere, but not here....

I'm not a promoter, just doing what I can as a normal member to promote the good work they do.

And yes the hosting company is having problems at the moment, as they upgrade the servers, so it can be a tad slow and sometimes be offline. Should be resolved soon I'm told.

No I didn't... ;) Excellent gigs and my 10 year old was down the front (and we only had to pay for one ticket)

True, but Yorkshire is a long way from Bristol and I missed MA when they came here as well... :(

also for producing the 'best album'.

With John and Clive presumably collecting their individual awards I've got to know if Mick went and picked this one up from Fish!  ;)

LOL that's a good one!

Except for the fact that I don't have a sister.

So it could be a Prognomebro... or maybe Antiprognomebro.... as he doesn't like prog... (he doesn't like music at all)

We're getting waaaaaaaayy off-topic now...

Thanks for that great post Stuart! :o

And I think I'll check out Mostly Autumn when I can.
Which album to start? (From an Arena-point of view?)

*Adds to list of bands PH must check out (including now Mostly Autumn and Threshold)*

keyboardistmatt

I started with Mostly Autumn's first album 'For all we shared'

"Heroes Never Die" is quite fantastic!

Thanks also Stuart. :)

Funny thing, I also was looking at this page on the CRS site just last night.  Nice to see you posted it.  I was also trying to find a more detailed play by play of the evening, but I guess that's being worked up somewhere.

Yes, Heather Findley is very nice!  I had the pleasure of seeing Mostly Autumn at the CRS Heepfest that they had over here in the US in New Jersey where the lineup was Heep of course, Karnataka, Mostly Autumn, Nektar, & Focus.  Good event and lots of good hanging out time there at the bar.  This is where Nearfest held their events for the past two years in Trenton.

Also saw Mostly Autumn in NY when they supported Nektar at the State Theatre.  A good show again.

I also like Racheal from Karnataka and Lana Lane as well.  But actually, the whole list is quite good.

Happy for Clive and the guys!
