Enchant Live At Last - completes my Enchant collection 8)

And does Enchant get the "recommended by Steve" stamp? (I bet it does, since you have the complete collection now.)

Leaves' Eyes Symphonies of the Night - my first from this band, purchase prompted simply by the news of line-up change.

So what's that then?

Well, today two albums entered my collection:
Haken - "Affinity"
Two disc edition of course! Ha! This band deserves the instrumental treatment, so much going on in Haken's songs!

Circus Maximus - "Havoc"
Finally a CM album. If I like this album very much (and I heard some promising snippets) then I'll work my way back from there.

Yes indeed.  Love 'em and anything related such as Thought Chamber *horns*

I'm enjoying "Symphonies of the Night", seems fairly standard Symphonic/Operatic Metal so far but good.

Haken is tempting, as is BBT ... but I think that I am going to wait for a while since I just loaded my Neal Morse shelf and simultaneously emptied my wallet with ?, Testimony , One and [SB'] Snow.

That's a really nice couple of cds there.

Well, and I went and bought some more BBT albums.
- "Folklore" of course. A new Big Big Train album is an autobuy for me.
- "Stone & Steel", which is the live (and live in studio) bluray. Looking forward to watching this one! Probably will do a bit tonight.
- "Goodbye To The Age Of Steam", just to get closer to completing the collection. I think BBT succesful period starts with "The Underfall Yard", but I might like this.

Ah, I totally forgot to mention that I also bought some Redemption albums:
- "Discovering Redemption" boxset, the very nice boxset from the InsideOut label, including:
   - "The Origins Of Ruin"
   - "Snowfall On Judgment Day"
   - "This Mortal Coil"
With a nice and complete booklet. I really like these "Discovering..." series! Just got this one for less than ten euros.
- "The Art Of Loss" (slightly more than ten euros)

Today I listened to "Snowfall On Judgment Day" and was pleasantly surprised. I remember having listened to this band before, but somehow I never noticed that it's pretty good!

Still awaiting Beardfish's youngest album.

After that I'll have to wait for a while and listen to all this music first, before I start something new.

Interesting boxset indeed.

I have never listened to Redemption. How would you compare them to Fates Warning ? I like some of FW albums but overall I find their sound a bit "dry" (if someone can picture what that could mean), lacking a few keyboards layers.

I don't know why -since the two bands have nothing in common except the progmetal tag- but it reminds me that I would like to listen to Magellan one day. Any advice about where to start with them, someone ? I remember Nicky mentioning them a few times a looong time ago.

A sure winner. Looks like it came home with ya, Jonesey :)

Don't expect too much of that one. One should probably forget about AoI and just listen to it on its own terms. Got some fine musicians on it. I'll give it another run ....

About a week ago, Arjen Lucassen revealed on fb that his Strange Hobby would be re-released with some extra bonus songs.
I already have the original version but couldn't resist to order this new one as well.
Today it was gently thrown upon my door mat. ;)

Yeah, read about it. I do own the original version as well, but don't need to buy the new one (yet?) because there are so many great releases at the moment. I'm waiting for:
The Neal Morse Band - Alive Again (DVD/2cd version)
The Pineapple Thief - Your Wilderness
'I will surrender my heart to the sky
Oh, our love doesn't end here, it lives forever on the wings of time'
