And we just had kliekjee again.  ;D

This is so exotic that it's not even known to Google.

Is it something that only marshies can eat; everybody else is poisoned ?  ;D

Nicky.

Well... actually it is called "kliekje" or "kliekjes" in plural form.
It's not necessarily poisonous. It CAN be very poisonous, but this depends on what you ate the previous day.

Talkin bout beer (for a change  :D ), Bupie, you know you Frenchies have a great beer brewery called St. Landelin in Northern Frogland. I'v tasted several of their sorts, and they're all super, as excellent as the Chimay assortment. StL make a Christmas beer which is tres bien too, so maybe that's an occasion ......

In this place, I have to do all the research myself  ;) , so I dug up the explanation (Wiki, of course):

Een kliekje is een restje eten dat van een vorige dag is overgebleven.

OK, nosy-Paco, in English it's "leftovers" or "rests". In Danish and Swedish it's "rester". In Swahili it's "mongo bongo". More rests?  ;D

No not "rests". In Dutch we also have "resten", but we also have "kliekjes".
Is our language so rich? :o

Well... a lot of course, but I can't explain it, since the English-speaking don't have as much words as we do. ;D

-Paco

Nicky007

Rests are with one pinch of salt, while kliekjes are with two halfpinches of salt - and you're the affenpinscher, Paco  ;D

LOL!
Well, Sinterklaas is not the youngest person I know... If I were you I would check your neighbour's shoes for an "A".
You'd better write a letter to Sinterklaas too, or else chances are you don't get the gifts you're hoping for...

-Paco

Nicky007

Well, Sinterklaas prob got his own shoes stuck in the marsh, so now he's on the lookout for a good pair of shoes   ;D
