Recommended it the magazine iO-pages. This time I'm pleasanty surprised: keyboard oriented prog with beautiful solos. Only the vocals aren't that great, but not bad either. Will certainly play it again!  8)

Downes of Asia and Yes.
Very pleasant album! If you like Asia, Yes, 80's Genesis even. Possibly Buggles (wouldn't know, really). Very much recommended to the pop-side lovers of prog! It goes on my list!

This week been listening to alot of Gazpacho (Tick Tock, Fireworker), Pink Floyd (Dark Side, Wish You Were Here, Atom Heart Mother, Final Cut and The Wall), Genesis (Selling England By The Pound, Lamb Lies Down On broadway), Porcupine Tree ( The Incident, Deadwing, Fear Of a Blank Planet and Sky Moves Sideways), Yes (Close to the Edge, Talk, Big Generator and the epic Going For The One) and Transatlantic (both versions of The Absolute Universe) a pretty good week!

Good choices Iggy. The only band you mention I dislike is Yes. I can only bear 'Owner Of A Lonely heart'. I find the rest nervous and maybe too difficult for me  :-\. Yeah, Soen is being played often here, what an album *horns*.

JF Steven Wilson - The raven that refused to sing
NP Rik Emmett & Resolution 9 - Res9

Rik Emmett was the guitarist/singer of Triumph, the other famous Canadian power trio not called Rush. Although not a specialist of the band, I reckon that Triumph could be labelled heavy AOR with a few touches of prog on their first albums even if prog fans tend to mock and despise them. I don't and I think that Emmett has a knack to write catchy tunes. On this solo album, he gets some featuring from fellow Canadians James LaBrie and Alex Lifeson. I really enjoy it, some solid melodic (hard) rock where Emmett shines on guitar.

And Iggy and Teunis, I also really like Sean Filkins' War and Peace  *horns*

This one (Norwegian prog) was recommended at the Airbag Facebook Group because a few Airbag members are playing on it. Well, the music is okay (not spectacular), but I really dislike the vocals. So it was a 'once in a lifetime' experience ;).

Mark Kelly's Marathon

Mark Kelly has been pretty famous with another band starting with an M. I don't know if he put his name upfront for people to recognise him or because there is already a (pretty good!) Dutch band named Marathon. Whatever the reason, the album is worth checking for classic prog ala 80's Marillion fans.
