Great album, it will even get better after more listenings, I'm sure 8).

Yes! I also listened to that album since the release date. In fact, thursday evening I waited for the clock to say 0:00 so I could listen to Riverside's latest (at least until sleep overwhelmed me).
Gotta love Spotify!

I'll probably listen to Riverside again today and the whole coming week. Except for friday.
Friday Damanek will release their second album. Can't wait for that one. Guys, you should listen to "On Track". You'll like it! And next week you should listen to "In Flight" as well. ;D

Just played:
Kevin Gilbert - "Thud"
8) Always a pleasure listening to this. Oh, the things that could have been!

Now playing:
Riverside - "Wasteland"
Acid Rain is a really nice song. It has some parts (the synth arpeggios) that remind me of Muse.
Guardian Angel, River Down Below and The Day After are beautiful (and sad) little songs.
The other songs are proggier and therefore take a bit more to sink in (but they're absolutely great!).
S.O.N.G.S. is still my favourite album of theirs, but this album might take away that crown.

Damn, hate that....

I preordered the new Riverside album but still haven't received it yet.  ::)

Already listened to the album thanx to Spotify, but I always like to read the lyrics as well, read the booklet. Can't do that right now.

They'll have a new one in a few weeks as well.

Was listening to:
Riverside - "Wasteland"
For some reason the quieter songs are connecting with me better at the moment.

Also listened to:
BASta!² - "Vertigo"
Some sort of progressive classical music or something. It's a double bass and flute affair. It's fully instrumental. Not bad, but it's hard for me to keep being interested for a whole disc.

Now listening to:
The Dear Hunter - "All Is As All Should Be"

It's a great album, but a grower. It needs time to sink in. Especially the long instrumental track, which is my least favourite track at the moment.

Not yet, it'll be next week. Preparing for the gig on Saturday with two female fronted metal bands: Kingfisher Sky and Phantom Elite. That's why I'm now playing:

Phantom Elite - Wasteland (Popular album title :))

Haha, yes I also think Big Parade is awful. Don't know what they were thinking. ;) But apparently the song got enthusiastic response during live gigs... Or so I've read in a Guy Manning interview. Also, I don't really like Madison Blue, but all the other songs are very VERY nice!

Last night I was listening to:
Landmarq - "Solitary Witness" and "Infinity Parade" back to back and on repeat.

I remember listening to this many years ago and not thinking much of it. I was discovering all things Clive Nolan back then and was under the spell of Tracy Hitchings' voice on "Jabberwocky", "The Hound Of The Baskervilles" and her solo album "From Ignorance To Ecstacy". So naturally I played the (excellent) Landmarq live album "Thunderstruck" more.

But now I'm enjoying these Damian Wilson cd's a lot more!

I'm on my way home from a gig. An Anima Mundi concert in Apeldoorn. It's my first introduction to this band.
Wow. Impressive stuff. A mix of Pink Floyd and Genesis with very dark sounds and a heavy edge. I'm going to explore their studio cds.

Ah good idea! I'll put it on my Spotify list!

Was listening to some Anima Mundi today. I had a great evening in Apeldoorn last Thursday. They started at 21:00 and when I left around 23:15, they were still playing. Unfortunately I had a train to catch. As I can see from the setlist, they must have stopped no sooner than 0:00. Three hours of music for a mere ten euros. They have a new fan!

Now I'm listening to Landmarq again:
Landmarq - "Infinity Parade"
Fantastic music for an evening.

I wanted to be at the Threshold gig in Zoetermeer, but no one wanted to join me...

Subsignal - "La Muerta"
What a nice album. For now, this album feels like every song is good! So different from their previous album. Much more like "Paraiso".

Dukes Of The Orient - "Dukes Of The Orient"
To me, this is starting to become a bit dull. It's not bad of course, but I feel that Brother In Arms, Strange Days and Seasons Will Change sound too much alike in the choruses.

Agreed, 'Paraiso' is still my favourite, but 'La Muerta' comes close 8). The album in between 'The Beacons Of Somewhere Sometime' is less catchy.

I find the mix between 'Asia featuring John Payne' and 'Rocket Scientists' interesting. Like the album very much. Not a top-3, but certainly a top-10 album for me *horns*.

Sounds like another classic.

NP Fish - A Parley With Angels EP

A taster EP for the forthcoming double, final studio album "Weltschmerz". Getting in the mood for tonight's gig! This will be the first time I see the big man live. His excellent "Feast of Consequences" album has really made me reconsider and discover his solo works which I had left aside since the "Suits" album did not really click. Now I have bought the back catalogue in the new deluxe editions, so there is an advantage to getting to the party late ;) Besides solo material the gig will feature Clutching At Straws in its entirety, look forward to it *horns*

Before played: RanestRane - Starchild (Space Odyssey trilogy final part)

I am very impressed by this Italian band. Saw them live three times now, two times supporting the Steve Rothery Band and Marillion and last week as headliner in the lovely Parkvilla Theatre in Alphen a/d Rijn. Great show with a condensed version of their trilogy, i.e. their own new soundtrack for the famous movie, which is shown simultaneously on a big screen (Cineconcerto the band calls it). The show was rounded off with a few tracks of their first two albums. Kudos to Serious Music Alphen for organising this great event and the perfect sound, for a mere 15 euro ticket, drink included *horns*
