Well... I have to listen to it again to give a proper and fair opinion. But for now I can say that Fear Factory will probably not be my thing. It's not the heaviness, I think I can handle that. I just found nothing really interesting in it. A few songs in I was bored with it. But I promise to listen again.

Judas Priest on the other hand was very much a pleasant surprise. I'll 'defo' will listen to it again!

Today I listened to:
Kaipa - "Sattyg"

And
Frost* - "Falling Satellites"

Yesterday I listened to Anderson/Stolt - "Invention Of Knowledge" on repeat. It was hard, because it's very vocally driven music. But eventually it came together and now I'm enjoying it a lot.

This album is more Anderson than Stolt I suppose. Jon wrote  with many others and the result of that went to Roine and Co. 'Co' being the usual Flowery guys like Jonas Reingold, and the guy who drums with TFK. Roine did his magic and the end result is definitely something for Yes fans and Flower Kings fans.

I hope they make another album and I think they probably will because Jon said that working with Roine was very inspiring. A next album will probably give Roine more chance to shine a bit more. I had the feeling he was a bit underused (not many guitar solos and just very short instrumental bits).

But in the end, the album is a winner for me!

The thing about Genexus is that it's very intense and complex music - why do you think I'm diggin it so much ?

Initially it's rather strenuous. But with increasing listens, it unfolds its beauty and mysteries - very advanced and well-thought-thru art *horns*

Anyway , Echo Street by Amplifer which is my favourite album of the last 5 years.
Also been listening to Enslaved and King Diamond plus greatest hits by The Beach Boys - well it is summer  ;D

Circus Maximus - "Havoc"
Really like it. Now I just need to get their other albums.

Karmakanic - "Dot" (on Spotify)
Really nice. Only listened to it once, but it was very pleasant.

Also listened to Muse - "Drones" (on Spotify). It's OK I guess. Not really bad, but I think Muse's best times are behind them. They promised a more Rock album but to me it sounds more of the same. And some of the lyrics are not helping...

Yes, I have this one high on my must-listen list.

NP Matilda, the musical that my daughters love and listen to again and again. it has a few nice and addictive songs, especially When I Grow Up.

Agreed. They promised a more 'guitar oriented' album instead of the two more electronic ones before (Resistance, The 2nd Law). Well, I like those two more than 'Drones'. Not weak, but I don't find myself playing it often.

To give another perspective, I'm quite addicted to it *horns*  Still prefer 2nd Law by a small margin, but I think Drones is the best Muse album after that. Play it loud and preferably not lo-res and compressed on Spotify! ;D

np Queen - First album

So far I prefer "2nd Law" to "Drones". And "The Resistance" to "2nd Law". ::)

The Flower Kings - "The Sum Of No Evil" (on Spotify) ;)
Really liking this. Funny thing, there was a time that I didn't really like TFK.

np Queen - First album

Queen were at the top of the game right from the beginning *horns*

Not inappropriate to juxtapose Queen and Muse like that ;)

Both pushed things beyond reasonable limits - and Hurrah for that !!!

Spent the past week travelling thru Sweden, all up to Umeå, visiting Ms 007's family, so haven't had much chance to listen to "my" music - which is irregular even for the Room :o - in fact not much music at all.

Beyoncé's newest Lemonade was played twice in my presence. It really is very good 8)

Therefore:

NP  Fear Factory:  Genexus

You guys who listened to this album, did you follow my advice and start with Expiration Date ? Or at least play it at some point ? Because this is a slow deep piece that I think would go well with most of you. Also the bonus track on the Special Edition of Genexus, Enhanced Reality, spiced by the remarkable Rhys Fulber, is a wonderful atmospheric piece.

I maintain that Genexus is musically the most (balanced) advanced album of our times !

Lyrically I'm uncertain what is. Byron's Hexalogy comes first to mind, but I'm not as convinced as with the previous matter.

Today I was in a heavy mood:
Scar Symmetry - "The Unseen Empire"
Scar Symmetry - "The Singularity (Phase 1: Neohumanity)"
Nevermore - "This Godless Endeavor"
Finished it off with Radiohead - "A Moon Shaped Pool"

All on Spotify.

Super, Paxi, great to see, you're taking big strides in Metalworld *horns*

Also Radiohead's new album is a fine choice 8)

NP  Fear Factory:  Digimortal

First listen. *horns* of course, but surprisingly different from the latest three albums. Seems lighter, more experimental and melodic. Probably a better starter for most listeners than Genexus - which is veeerrry fast & furious :o

Scar Symmetry is pretty catchy stuff. Really like it! *horns* I knew of the guitarist because of Kaipa. But Kaipa is much proggier of course, with all the time signatures and such. ;)

I'm glad it has your approval. There's of course a lot of pop involved. But not as much as with Beyoncé. ;D
Radiohead is doing pretty experimental stuff lately. Really nice.

Now listening to The Flower Kings' "Space Revolver".
I guess I had a very wrong start with TFK initially. My experience started with "Paradox Hotel" and when I didn't like it, I tried "Adam & Eve". Turned out that these two are widely regarded as their worst albums. ::) Or at least a very wrong starting point.

Yeah, I listened a lot to SS some years ago, when Christian was their fabulous singer. I haven't heard their latest albums tho - yet ....

And what's your current take on Nevermore ? You probably remember that Jonesy and I were deep into N some years ago. This Godless Endeavor was the one that caught me initially - super album *horns*
