Every time I play this album I'm reminded of how good it actually is. And how much it reminds me of 90's Arena.

This morning I had to start at 4:30 at work. So there was plenty of time to enjoy the following albums:
"The Flower King"
"Hydrophonia"
"Wall Street Voodoo"
All by the amazing Roine Stolt!
(One of my favourite guitar players ever)

NP Touchstone - Discordant Dreams  8)

Those were the good days of Touchstone. Unfortunately, their last album has been a huge letdown, I didn't even bring it with me to Australia. And now their singer has to quit due to a serious illness, putting the band's future in jeopardy. Too bad, I really enjoyed three of their albums : the one listed above, Wintercoast and The City Sleeps.

Obviously you meant 'Touchstone' instead of 'Threshold' ;).

pp: Riverside- Love, Fear And The Time Machine
jp: Riverside - Anno Domini High Definition (definitely their heaviest album)
np: Karnataka - Secrets Of Angels (@ Bupie, this band is similar to 'Touchstone'. It's on Progstreaming, like it very much.)

Yes, obviously, but both bands' albums lay close to each others on my CDs shelf.  ;)

I thought they were closer to Mostly Autumn, which implies softer sound and celtic influences but I will check them.

JF Knight Area - Nine Paths This one was one of your advices, Teunis. I really like this band and I am surprised that it doesn't get more credit in the prog community. Too poppy for prog snobs, I guess, and too proggy for classic music audience. I am eagerly waiting for their live CD/DVD, already ordered it.

NP Touchstone - Wintercoast Their absolute masterpiece IMHO. Some songs are truly sublime, Original Sin coming first to my mind *horns* The album was mixed by our beloved JM. Worth checking without getting fooled by the heavy intro of the first song.

You may be right there but I find their music way better than Mostly Autumn.

They deserve a lot more fans indeed. Their last album 'Hyperdrive' is far from poppy, more metalish and definitely their heaviest album. Glad you like 'Nine Paths' but I was really confident :). 'Hyperlive' (CD/DVD) is great.

jp: Gazpacho - Demon (Just read that my record shop will receive the new album 'Molok' tomorrow. Can't wait 8))

Impressed, what a great album. I admit I was somewhat disappointed after first listening, but it unfolds its beauty with every new listening *horns*.

NP Flying Colors - Second Nature

I must admit that I don't play this album very often (and the previous one even less) but two very enjoyable videos of their forthcoming live CD/DVD release put me in the mood for it. And it's good indeed, but not in the same league as, for instance, Transatlantic IMHO.

I also played that one today. It's a very 'calm' one. Dunno, but I think I like the previous a bit better.

I'm not with you on this. I think "Second Nature" is a fantastic album, and in my opinion it beats Transatlantic's "Kaleidoscope" (which is still a fine album!). Of course Neal had to divide his talents on "Second Nature", "Kaleidoscope" and "Songs From November".

Yes indeed, please listen to Ray Wilson's solo albums! Especially his latest: "Chasing Rainbows". It's full of perfect little songs. Not prog obviously...
