NP Knight Area - Hyperdrive
Did you like what you heard? ;) It's definitely heavier than the rest of their albums. It took me a few listenings, but I like their 'new' sound *horns*.

I've been enjoying several albums while reading the iO-pages (magazine about progrock):
Von Hertzen Brothers - Nine Lives
U2 - All That You Can't Leave Behind
Traumhaus - Die Andere Seite
Pendragon - Men Who Climb Mountains
Airbag - The Greatest Show On Earth

np: The Pineapple Thief - Magnolia (really like this one!)
'I will surrender my heart to the sky
Oh, our love doesn't end here, it lives forever on the wings of time'
-------------------------------------------------------
Toto - Wings of time (Kingdom of Desire)

Teunis

Opeth - Pale Communion
'I will surrender my heart to the sky

Well, I don't know their other albums but I really liked what I heard ... oh and by the way, I am still hearing it right now  :)

I find it a pleasant album. Like their new direction, no growls  ::) ;).

Asia - Asia (back to the roots, the debut is probably still my favourite Asia album with John Wetton on vocals)
Bjørn Riis - Lullabies in a Car Crash (Three times in a row, what a 8) album. If you like Airbag and/or Gilmourish solos, this album may interest you)
'I will surrender my heart to the sky
Oh, our love doesn't end here, it lives forever on the wings of time'

What many are unaware of is that R.E.M. were active for 31 years (1980-2011) and made 15 very rich studio albums. That's a pretty good job. Few groups are that productive ;)

I know.
I once heard a song long ago, The One I Love, and I really liked it but because it didn't get many airplay on the radio and on mtv and such, I was afraid back then that I would probably never hear the song again.
But that of course was before youtube and radiostations that do like to play the old stuff.
Still a great track but indeed they made some more great tracks.

NP> Gazpacho ~ Missa Atropos

Gazpacho is becoming one of my favourite bands.
Don't really enjoy the albums before Night but everything that they have released after Night is extremely good!  *horns*

jp: Mostly Autumn - Dressed In Voices (not impressed, have a sort of hate/love relationship with this band ;).)
np: Steve Rothery - The Ghosts Of Pripyat (well-played, but until now pure instrumental. Hard to stay interested for me, prefer music with vocals.)
'I will surrender my heart to the sky
Oh, our love doesn't end here, it lives forever on the wings of time'

NP: Neal Morse - Sola Scriptura
I still consider this to be the very best Neal Morse solo-album. How about a top-5 guys? ;D

That's hard!

1. Sola Scriptura
2. ?
3. Testimony 2
4. Momentum
5. One

Man, this changes everytime I listen to one of his albums.
I'm pretty sure of "Sola Scriptura" though. What an album!

Just listened to Spock's Beard "The Light".
Not bad either!! But Neal is so much better solo, in my opinion of course.

Bupie

JF LLoyd Cole And The Commotions - Rattlesnakes
A great classic of the 80s that has been reedited in a rich 2 CD version. Not prog at all but highly recommended nevertheless.

NP Threshold - Wounded Land
In the middle of the first listen ... which is not very pleasant so far  :P

I remember listening to that album and having the same reaction.
Never listened to it again.
But because I like Threshold so much, I just want to re-investigate that album (and other early albums).

NP:
Devin Townsend - "Z²"
Disc one: "Sky Blue"

Nice! Catchy stuff. There's some filler on this disc though. But that's not a surprise to me. He has released a lot of material this year.

Anyone else who listens to Devin? I don't see him being mentioned much in here. Where's Manatee?

Bupie

JF Steve Lukather - Transition
A great album, really  *horns*

Today:
Subsignal - Paraiso (what a *horns* album, bring on the new one in 2015)
Bjørn Riis - Lullabies in a Car Crash  8)
Darkwater - Where Stories End  *horns*
The Pineapple Thief - Magnolia (on my 'to buy' list by now, wouldn't have thought that ;).)

Toto - Wings of time (Kingdom of Desire)

Bjorn Riise ~ Lullabies in a Car Crash

Sounds a lot like Airbag but that's not very strange, since Bjorn is its guitar player.
Not bad, but though sometimes the music sounds a bit rougher, I experience the same problem with Bjorn that I have with Airbag.
Its creeping further in the same pace, without any wish to accelerate.
Cause of Injury: Lack of Adhesive Ducks.

Beardfish ~ Sleeping in Traffic pt II

A band from Sweden, who believe they are the incarnation of Zappa and the likes.
Fruitful, humourish band, with lots to discover.
If you like it weird and quirky.  :P

Played:

Neal Morse:  Sola Scriptura  &  ?  (on repeat)  *horns*

Thanx for getting me back to these, Paxi :)

Yes, definitely wonderful music. And the lyrics do speak to my heart 8)

This time it really clicked. So Neal Morse went to my pantheon. And he, his musicians, and songs into several other slots in my LP ;)

In fact I even ordered Testimony 2 from Amazon for good measure. So then I'll have his first six solo albums. Momentum will have to wait.

Tom, am I right in inferring a movement toward Christianity on your part ?

Stiltskin:  She  *horns*

I thought that I had found the album on Amazon for a reasonable price. But inside the package was the single, with some for me irrelevant other mixes of She. This was by no means obvious. So total waste of money :(

Fortunately I found a used album for twice the price. It was the last one for a somewhat decent price. And now I just had to have it ;)

The remaining ones went for 133 USD +. Crazy, who wants to pay that much ::)

Gary Hughes:  Veritas  *horns*

Hardly prog, but as good as songcraft gets. Some super songs 8)

Like the title song   www.youtube.com/watch?v=lCE9MuC70pE

And some marvelous guitar-playing by Chris Francis :)

I know that Bupie wasn't impressed by Chris' playing ... but then again, he's French ::)

And now one that I keep returning to, another Nei/al  ;)

Neil Young:  Thrasher  www.youtube.com/watch?v=NzKbfr8InYo

Oh man, what a song *horns* *horns* *horns*

I guess when ones Dad or Mum die, one tries to keep them alive - somehow. I lost both my parents in 2013 :'(

This song is all my Dad: his breezy homeland South Dakota, the endless prairie, the eagles, horses, wildlife. He became a professor in physics at 30, but he never lost his natural roots. He felt most alive when he was out in his extensive garden, tending his fruit bushes, tugging out the weeds, plying his lines of potatoes and carrots :)

I was so fortunate as to spend two summer holidays in his hometown Brookings, and the wonderful countryside around.

Now that I don't fly any longer, I probably won't get back to the States :-\

Yes, have been listening to the show as well.
The second part that is. Tuned it too late.
And then, after Pendragon, the connection failed.
Used to listen through winamp but that isn't possible anymore!?
