The Tea Party ~ The Ocean at the End

They have returned!
After the stunning Seven Circles album, these canadian rockers (mix of blues, oriental music, grunge and prog/rock) returns after almost ten years of silence, and hiatus.
Nice album.
But... not as good as their previous work.

Seven Circles, Triptich and Interzone Mantras are still great albums but the new album doesn't get near one of these three.

Neal always offers quality. This album is no exception, but I prefer the Neal Morse Band (prog) music. Won't buy it either because of the other releases in September/October, maybe later.

Tim Bowness - Abandoned Dancehall Dreams (Also on Progstreaming. He is known from No-Man. Not bad at all.)

Recently played:

Blind Ego - "Mirror"
I finally got this album and the follow up "Numb". It's better than I remembered. I really like the Paul Wrightson songs. But JM's songs are not bad either.

Just finished playing:

A.C.T - "Imaginary Friends"
A.C.T is always great to listen to. This band should be much bigger than they are right now. Their concert in Holland was cancelled because of disappointing sales.

Now playing:

RPWL - "World Through My Eyes"
Decided to play this again after listening to Blind Ego. It still is a fantastic album. I think I should investigate RPWL more. Someone who knows more about this band? Recommendations? Best album?

Blind Ego is *horns*. Album number 3 is in the works, really looking forward to it!

Interesting, Mad, Thanx for info :)

TTP are pantheon with me *horns*

I'm very fond of the three albums that you mention 8)

Sad to hear that you don't rate their latest album as highly as the three, but I'll have to make up my own mind about that ;)

I just read that it was one ticket that made the difference. You should have bought it after all, Paxi :(

JP  Queen I

Realised that I hadn't listened properly to this album before. But there's a big jump up to Queen II. My Fairy King is a great song tho, a real Mercury song :)

NP  Queen II

This one I'v listened a lot to, altho not as much as Sheer, Night, and Day, which I have played to death. An excellent album, but it was with their third, Sheer Heart Attack, that they reached the top. This was my overall fave album for an entire summer *horns*

So you've come of age
And so you want to meet God
Sure you can
He's right here next to me

Sheer heart attack is indeed their magnum opus Nicky  *horns*

About Gazpacho - Tick Tock
Quote from: maddox on Thu, 2014-07-17, 09:57:26
It's not.
I've searched for it, the one I have is damaged and unplayeble unfortunately, but the only Tick Tock I find is the vinyl kind.
Nice, but I'd settle for a cd.
Good news for you, they're working on a re-release with bonus track :). Read it on Facebook today!

Recent releases I have been really enjoying

Opeth - Pale Communion
IQ - Ther Road of Bones
Robert Reed - Sanctuary

although Rob Reed is fairly similar to Tubular Bells which is not a bad thing.

I also like it! Personally I wouldn't use the word 'love', but since it's coming from you I wouldn't expect otherwise. ;)

What do you think of the generally negative reviews this album gets?
