IQ - "The Road Of Bones"

At the moment, I'm listening to the third track of the second disc: Constellations. A very nice IQ song, with Genesis keyboards. ;)
Very  nice indeed.

Enjoying it very much *horns*

It's more in yer face and rocky than the previous H-Marillion albums, and still edgy and skew enuff to take hold.

I know that I will tread on many Roomies' dainty toes with this, but to me the previous albums are too meandering and hit and miss. Here and there are some gems, like Cannibal Surf Babe and The Space..., but it's rather sparse. The collective process needs to be spurred by individual genius ;)

Ahh nice! This album is somewhat special to me because it's the first Marillion album I heard (and liked).
Still like it very much. After this album their sound became more "ambient" (by lack of a better term), more subtle and less in your face (read: listen multiple times to discover and enjoy the beauty). Man, I need to put it on right away!

But perhaps you are now ready for "Marbles", Nicky. Perhaps their best h album.

Paxi, I have Marbles. I'v played it a few times, without it really clicking. But now I'm a bit more into H-Marillion. I plan to get into Marbles after Anorak. I'l give you my take .... :)

Miami band. One studio album: Cultivation (2012). Got Santiago Dobles on guitars, of Aghora fame, totally insane guitarist. Tony Choy is leader, main songwriter, and bassist in Synkronizity, of Cynic and Atheist fame.

Cultivation is imo one of the most exciting albums in our times *horns*

Straight to my pantheon :)

A.C.T - "Circus Pandemonium"

Of the 2014 albums I have, I find myself playing this one the most.

IQ's "The Road Of Bones" comes close and has shown to be a real grower. Just after playing the happy A.C.T album, IQ looks like the most gloomy, melancholic and dark album ever.

I think Tuomas Holopainen's "The Life And Times Of Scrooge" comes after that. I almost have a feeling I must be the only one in the world who likes this album, because I am a huge Scrooge McDuck comic fan. Especially the ones that were written and drawn by Keno Don Rosa. Of course, just behind the master Carl Barks himself. This album is inspired by Don Rosa's comic books. Tuomas is, of course, the keyboardplayer and mastermind of Nightwish.

For some reason Transatlantic's "Kaleidoscope" doesn't get much play anymore lately. Why? I dunno. I guess it's just too much like it's predecessor but less interesting. When I want to listen to Transatlantic, I find "The Whirlwind" much more inviting.

It even seems I have played Gazpacho's "Demon" just a bit more than Transatlantic. But Gazpacho's albums are very difficult for me to get into. I need to get in the right mood for it. So I tried a lot, and only a few times it hits me right.

It's too early to say what Anathema's "Distant Satellites" will do for me.

Since "Contagion Max" is more of a re-release, I'm not really counting it as a 2014 new studio album release.

But all can change. :D

(Again) A.C.T - "Circus Pandemonium"

This is a fantastic album and a must buy for A.C.T fans. (Nicky?)

It's again much heavier than "Silence". In some places this can absolutely be called Progressive Metal.
The only 'weak' tracks are the non-musical interludes which most of the time suffer from overacting. Anyway, this is another masterpiece and highly recommended!
