Gazpacho ~ Demon

What a strange but stunning album this is.
There are some strange elements on the album, gritty and dark concept/tunes but I really like it!

I have also listened to that album because of a sampler. The song Wohin Der Wind Dich Trägt was really nice indeed. I'll have a listen again.

After a vicious attack of Will.I.AM and a brutal blow of some other dance tunes that one should not mention here in the Room, it's time for something bigger;

Opeth ~ Deliverance

Yes, I'm alone right now. Hehehe.  *horns*

Deadelus ~ Motherland

Typical modern progmetal from Italy.
Not bad, but not groundbreaking.
The singer has that 'I've-heard-this-before' voice.

On repeat on progstreamingclassic.com. I am impressed ! Fans of Fish's Marillion and Pendragon, amongst others, should really enjoy it  *horns*

Anathema ~ Falling Deeper

Songs from their doom-era but rearranged.
Quite symphonic, with not much singing, it's about the music.

Guilt Machine ~ On This Perfect Day

Surprising album by the Dutch master.
To be honest, I hardly every play it, but when I do, it won't get out of the cdplayer for days.
Just one song that is a bit dull (Over) while the others are good to very good.

NP  Swans:  The Great Annihilator  (1995)

www.youtube.com/watch?v=KKyqBbLGmJg

Unusual, and interesting ... ;)

Wiki: "Swans is an American experimental rock band originally active from 1982 to 1997, led by singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Michael Gira. The band was one of the few groups to emerge from the early 1980s New York no wave scene and stay intact into the next decade."

Tipped by a friend :)

The no wave scene ? Never heard of it before but it seems to be an interesting concept  :)

Admittedly I had never either heard about it before :-[

Wiki: "No wave was an underground music, super 8 film, performance art, video art, and contemporary art scene that had its beginnings during the late 1970s through the mid-1980s in downtown New York City. The term "no wave" is in part a punk subculture satirical wordplay rejecting commercial elements in general, that was based in the specific rejection of the then-popular new wave genre. No wave music was a reaction against new wave acts, like Talking Heads, signing with record labels, and the use of Chuck Berry guitar riffs commonly used by new wave music groups in the late 1970s. The term became used in downtown New York City concurrent with the 1981 show, "New York/New Wave" that had been curated by the artist/curator Diego Cortez. The movement would last a relatively short time but profoundly influence the development of independent film, fashion and visual art."

I listened to most of The Great Annihilator. It didn't really enthuse me. But I will return to Swans. We all have had the experience that something didn't click the first time, but then all of a sudden ... ;)

Trevor Rabin:  Can't Look Away  (on repeat)

This was one that was looong in waiting. Now I'm really enthusiastic about it. It's a grower ;)

Here, try this, the first and title song:
