There most certainly is 

Death Angel and Heathen - Bay area thrash titans and as a fan of Testament you should check them out
Onslaught and Sabbat - the best 2 British thrash bands. Onslaught more Exodus esque and Sabbat a pagan influenced band
Izz  - my fave prog band at the moment
Alcest - Early black metal meets shoegaze , now like a French latter day Anathema
