NP Boston - Boston

I own this album for quite a long time but I never gave it a proper listen, staying focused on the -well deserved- mega-hit More Than A Feeling.

I listened to the complete album twice today (now it's the third one in a row) and, though it will never be a favorite of mine, I can understand why Boston sold 17 millions (!) copies of it. There is a too much/too American/too politically correct factor that repels me but at the same time I recognize the quality of the music and its innovative hallmark back in 1976. So I think this is a "must listen at least once in a lifetime"album. And I think I should check their second album too one day.

PP The Doobie Brothers - What Were Once Vices Are Now Habits  ... which is a cool title for a rock album IMO

NP The Doobie Brothers - Takin' It To The Streets

Once again, I recognize the quality of the music but it's not really my cup of tea, especially the latter  :P

not bad at all *horns*

It's pretty good! A lot of hype going on about this band. Obviously because someone's son is in it.
The music is nice. Some call it the best discovery of 2013 and the definitive successor of Genesis. Well, it's nice and the singer sounds a lot like his father, but wouldn't call this Genesis 2.

Agreed to some extend.
I do think that there are a few songs upon this album that could easily fit on albums like Abacab or Duke, and from where I am standing, that's not really a compliment. ;)
However I also think that this band has an own identity, they're not a copycat.
About Simon's voice, well to be honest I think he sounds more like Peter Gabriel than like his father.

But a fine album it is!

I liked the samples of that album. I guess I need to get me a copy. And I'm really into the concept and story of the (intended) trilogy.

No follow up album yet?

No follow up album yet?

The second part, When The Lions Leave their Den, was about to be released in 2011.

I have no clue why it hasn't been released yet.
They left Inside Out (label) and were searching for a new label, and Yuval Kramer has released the album Rise under the name Reign of the Architect ( a ... questionable album if you ask me...) but that's about it.
The info they give on their site and FB is very scarce, sadly.

Hope to hear from them very soon!

Sorry, Nick.

No match for the fine and sophisticated art of Amaseffer.  *horns*

This is an album one gotta work with  :)

Here's a good starter song:

Outworld:  Polar

Great track, by all means  *horns*

It's the Japanese bonus track. Very shifty, I get the feeling that they had sooo many great bits and pieces left over that they put'm together in this piece. Shows what they could do with a second album. Man, really hope so ....  ;)

Hey, Jonesey & Funky, what are you guys f*in around with ?  The party is here, man  >:(

That is a definitive statement ! Now I guess I have to try them.

NP Kerry Livgren - Seeds Of Change

I am in a period where Kansas and satellites (Walsh and Livgren solo albums, AD ...) are at the menu. I almost bought an Explorer's Club album because of Steve Walsh's contribution but I finally gave up after reading all the poor reviews. I think Nicky wil have something to say about that  ;D

I don't need to, we all know you'r French, Bupie  ;D

Altho I must say that the French are now upfront in metal, quite equal to Sweden and Norway  *horns*

Explorers Club's Age of Impact is one of my alltime top ten albums, Bupie ... but of course, if you'd rather listen to Boston, then there aint much I can do to help you  :D

EC made two albums, Age of Impact (1998) and Raising the Mammoth (2002). Mammoth is nothing like AoI  :-\

Steve Walsh sings and Kerry Livgren plays guitar on Mammoth.

NP  Metallica:  Master of Puppets

Altho it sounds a bit outdated today, it certainly was a revolution in them days  *horns*
